Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Slayers learn dexterous ways of fighting to maximise each strike. The ways of slaying particular monsters are not known, they are learned. A slayer dedicates their lives to their craft and no creature on Gilenor is immune to their strikes.

Level 3: Student of Slaying - Level 3

You're training shines through, you truly CAN harm any creature.

While a creature is marked by your Hunter’s Mark, if they are immune to piercing damage calculate that damage as resisted instead.

Level 3: Slayer Tasks - Level 3

You gain one of the following feature options of your choice.

Whenever you finish a Short or Long Rest, you can replace the chosen option with the other one.

There are conditions that limit you changing back.

Slayer Master in Training

You can lead new adventurers effortlessly into combat. When allies do not understand how to harm a creature because they lack the experience, you can impart your wisdom through example. Any enemy you damage while in this option.

Secondly you can ask the DM for a slayer task on a long rest. Your slayer task will always be one of a specific monster type and rewards for completing tasks can only be claimed from a slayer master. You can only have one slayer task.

Slayer Streak

When you have finished a slayer task today and have completed a long rest, you can choose to start your slayer streak. There are a myriad of benefits to being on a slayer streak, and also downsides in the greater world of Gilenor.

Benefits

  • You have Advantage attacking any creature type you have already killed on your current streak.
  • Items and Services from a Slayer Master will be reduced by 1% every time you add a tally to your streak. This is capped at a 50% reduction.
  • When you do not know how to kill a slayer monster yet, you cannot get it as a task.

Downsides

  • You MUST continue to claim rewards from the same slayer master to continue your streak. To get a recognised streak in a different region requires you to take tasks from the local slayer master.
  • If you have a task you cannot cancel it while in a slayer streak unless if it is your 100th task or you physically return to the master the task is from.
  • If you are fighting an enemy with a higher CR than your level you have Disadvantage.

Level 7: Eagle Eye - Level 7

As a seasoned hunter you are a master of finding weak points through analysis and study.

Creatures you attack can only benefit from resistance or immunity when you first roll to hit them in a turn.

Level 11: Master of Slaying - Level 11

While a creature is marked by your Hunter’s Mark, you always treat piercing damage as if the creature was vulnerable. This bypasses and resistance and immunity.

Level 15: Peerless Rigour - Level 15

Once per day, when you roll Initiative, you can choose to activate this feature. You're range is doubled, you cannot gain Disadvantage from attacking at long range & Hunter’s Mark becomes a free action.
