Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Astral Self believe that their physical bodies are but a veil. By peering past the material, they tap into their "Astral Self"—a representation of their soul's true form. While other Monks use Focus to bolster their physical speed, you manifest spectral limbs and a terrifying visage to dominate the battlefield.
In the 2024 revision of this path, your Astral Self is more integrated than ever. Your spectral arms are an ever-present extension of your reach, and your ability to "Empower" your forms allows you to adapt to any threat. Whether you are crushing enemies with [damage]psychic[/damage] echoes or soaring above the fray on astral wings, you are the ultimate manifestation of mind over matter.

Quick Feature Guide

3rd Level: Arms of the Astral Self. Manifest spectral arms for Wisdom-based attacks, [damage]force damage[/damage], and increased reach. Spend Focus to unleash a Spectral Burst.

6th Level: Visage of the Astral Self. Don a spectral mask for enhanced social presence and darkvision. Spend Focus for Astral Flare to ground and [Tooltip Not Found] your foes.

11th Level: Body of the Astral Self. Manifest a full astral form to gain Astral Flight and the ability to [Tooltip Not Found] and absorb elemental energy.

17th Level: Awakened Astral Self. Reach your zenith, gaining an AC bonus, a devastating Astral Barrage of three attacks per action and the ability to use stunning strike on every one of your attacks.
Arms of the Astral Self
Your mastery of your Focus allows you to summon a portion of your astral self. As a bonus action, you can summon the arms of your astral self. When you do so, you can empower them. If you do, each creature of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of you must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take force damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die.
Until dismissed, these spectral arms hover near your shoulders or surround your arms (your choice). You determine the arms’ appearance, and they vanish early if you are incapacitated, take a long rest, or die.
While the spectral arms are present, you gain the following benefit:

The unarmed strikes you make can use your Wisdom modifier in place of your Strength or Dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls.

You can use the spectral arms to make unarmed strikes.
- When you make an unarmed strike with the arms on your turn, your reach for it is 5 feet greater than normal.
While the spectral arms are empowered, you gain the following benefits:

You can use your Wisdom modifier in place of your Strength modifier when making Strength checks and Strength saving throws.

Whenever you attack using an unarmed strike, you can decide to convert the damage type to psychic.

As a bonus action, you can spend 1 Focus Point to flourish the arms in the exact same way as when they were empowered.
Visage of the Astral Self
As a Bonus Action, or as part of the Bonus Action you take to activate Arms of the Astral Self, you can summon this visage. It vanishes early if you are incapacitated, take a long rest or die. While the spectral visage is present, you gain the following benefits:

Astral Sight. You can see normally in nonmagical darkness to a distance of 60 feet and dim light to a distance of 90 feet.

Knowledge of the Spirit. You have [roll]Advantage[/roll] on Wisdom (Insight and Perception).

Word of the Spirit. When you speak, you can direct your words to a creature of your choice within 60 feet so only they can hear you, or amplify your voice so all creatures within 600 feet can hear you.
Focus Empowerment. As part of the Bonus Action used to summon the visage, or as a Bonus Action while it is active, you can spend 1 Focus Point to empower it for 10 minutes. While empowered, you gain:

Enhanced Sight. Your Astral Sight range increases to 120 feet (piercing both magical and nonmagical darkness) and 160 feet in dim light

Astral Flare. You can take the Magic Action and spend 3 Focus Points to emit a metaphysical shockwave. Each creature of your choice within 30 feet must succeed on a Wisdom Saving Throw (DC equals your Focus Save DC). On a failed save, the creature is frightened of you and its speed is reduced to 0 until the end of your next turn. On a successful save, the creature's speed is halved until the end of its next turn.
- Presence of the spirit: You gain [rules]Advantage[\rules] on Charisma (Intimidation) checks.
Body of the Astral Self
Level 11: Body of the Astral Self
Your astral self now acts as a protective shell. When you have both your Arms of the Astral Self and Visage of the Astral Self summoned and empowered, you can spend 2 additional Focus Points to manifest the full body of your astral self for 10 minutes. While the body is active, you gain the following benefits:

Astral Flight: You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You cannot [Tooltip Not Found]. (Per the [Tooltip Not Found] rules, you fall if your speed is reduced to 0, you are knocked prone, or you end your turn in the air).

Absorb Energy: When you reduce the damage of an attack to 0 using Deflect Energy, you can spend a focus point to gain resistance to that damage type until the start of your next turn.

Empowered Strikes: While you have [benefit]resistance[/benefit] from your Absorb Energy feature, your unarmed strikes deal an additional roll of your Martial Arts die as damage of the absorbed type.
Awakened Astral Self
17th-level Way of the Astral Self feature
Your connection to your astral self is complete, allowing you to unleash its full potential. As a bonus action, you can spend 5 Focus points to summon the arms, visage, and body of your astral self and awaken it for 10 minutes. This awakening ends early if you are incapacitated or die.
While your astral self is awakened, you gain the following benefits.
Armor of the Spirit. You gain a +2 bonus to Armor Class.
Astral Barrage. Whenever you use the Extra Attack feature to attack twice, you can instead attack three times if all the attacks are made with your astral arms.
Untethered Fists. You can use stunning strikes as many times as you want per turn, provided you have the focus points to use the feature
