Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Sorcerers of this origin are born touched by the sacred flame, their souls bound to the radiant power of the Sun itself. Where others must study or pray for divine fire, these individuals carry it within them, an ever-burning spark that answers to instinct rather than doctrine.

Many within the faith see these sorcerers as living miracles—proof that the Sun’s light does not only guide from above, but can take root within mortal flesh. Others view them with unease, for such power walks a dangerous line between divine gift and uncontrollable force. Unlike clerics and paladins, who temper their faith through discipline and oath, Scions of the Sun embody fire in its purest form: brilliant, relentless, and unforgiving.

These sorcerers do not simply cast flame—they create it, shaping it with precision and intent. Their power illuminates the hidden, consumes corruption, and reduces the unworthy to ash. To stand near one is to feel both warmth and danger, for the same fire that protects can just as easily destroy.

Ignition of the Inner Flame

At 3rd level, the divine spark within you awakens, allowing you to manifest and shape flame as an extension of your will.

You learn the Fire Bolt cantrip if you do not already know it. It does not count against your number of sorcerer cantrips known. When you cast Fire Bolt, its appearance reflects your connection to the Sun—radiant, golden, or white-hot rather than mundane flame.

When you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you can draw upon your inner flame to empower it. You may add your Charisma modifier to one damage roll of that spell.

Additionally, your connection to pure flame allows your magic to burn hotter than ordinary fire. Your spells that deal fire damage ignore resistance to fire damage.

Solar Shaping

Also at 3rd level, your control over flame allows you to wield it without harming those you wish to protect.

When you cast a spell that deals fire damage in an area, you can shape the flames around your allies. Choose a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one). The chosen creatures automatically succeed on their saving throws against the spell, and they take no damage if they would normally take half damage on a successful save.

To outside observers, your flames seem almost alive—parting and bending with unnatural precision, sparing some while consuming others.

Sustained Conflagration

By 6th level, your flames no longer fade when their initial burst has passed. Instead, they cling to your enemies, continuing to burn with relentless intensity.

Once on each of your turns, when you deal fire damage to a creature with a spell, you can cause that creature to become ignited in lingering flame. This ignition lasts for up to 1 minute.

An ignited creature takes 1d8 fire damage at the start of each of its turns. The creature, or another creature within reach, can use an action to extinguish the flames.

Your control over this effect deepens as your power grows. When you deal fire damage to a creature that is already ignited by you, it takes additional fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

To those who witness it, your flames seem to take hold of their target, as if the fire itself refuses to let go.

Sovereign of Flame

At 14th level, your mastery over fire extends beyond creation—you now command it wherever it exists.

You gain resistance to fire damage, and you are immune to damage from your own spells and effects that deal fire damage.

Additionally, you can manipulate flame in motion. When a creature you can see within 30 feet of you takes fire damage, you can use your reaction to redirect a portion of that energy. Choose another creature within 15 feet of the original target. The second creature takes fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

You can also move through nonmagical flames without penalty, and they do not harm you. Fire parts and bends around you as if recognizing your authority over it.

Solar Cataclysm

At 18th level, you can fully unleash the power within you, becoming a living embodiment of the Sun’s destructive radiance.

As a bonus action, you enter a state of heightened combustion that lasts for 1 minute. During this time, your body radiates intense heat and light, and your flames burn with overwhelming force.

While in this state, you gain the following benefits:

  • When you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you can treat one damage die of the spell as if it rolled its maximum value.
  • Creatures ignited by your Sustained Conflagration take 2d8 fire damage at the start of their turns instead of 1d8.
  • Creatures ignited by you have disadvantage on saving throws against your spells.
  • When a creature ignited by you is reduced to 0 hit points, it erupts in flame. Each creature of your choice within 10 feet of it takes fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
