Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The battlefield is a place where order conflicts with chaos. Those who follow the Path of the Executioner channel their rage to a fine point, directed towards those who would bring disorder to the field. Those willing to upset balance must be punished, and the Executioner takes it upon themselves to exact that punishment.

Forced Penance

At 3rd level, your strikes come particularly damaging for those who rebel against your judgement. While raging, once per turn, one of your weapon attacks deals an additional 1d8 damage of its damage type and reduces a creature's speed by 10 ft. You determine whether the attack deals extra damage before rolling to see whether it hits or not.

Any creature hit with a Forced Penance attack is cursed with the unique Tormented status effect. While afflicted, a creature suffers from a penalty to its Stealth checks equal to your Proficiency Bonus. Their movement speed is also reduced by 5 ft for the duration of the effect. Tormented lasts for one hour, or until it is removed through the Remove Curse spell.

Rites of Judgement

At 6th level, your desire to purge the unlawful splits open the earth itself. When you take the attack action, you can replace one attack with a special weapon attack - Punishment of the Damned. This attack is a 30 ft long, 5 ft wide line - make a separate attack roll for every creature in the area. The attack uses a 4d6 hit die, deals Piercing damage (magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance), uses your Strength modifier for to-hit and damage, and can have Rage damage applied to it. The attack's damage increases to 5d6 at 12th level, and to 6d6 at 18th level. It can only hit enemies within 5 ft of the ground.

Punishment attacks leave a Torment Trail on the ground for 1d4 turns, spanning the length of the attack's area. Any creature hostile to you that steps through the area are inflicted with Condemned.

Cage of Atonement

At 10th level, you create a special prison for those you deem guilty. Through agony, perhaps they can atone for their sins.

As a bonus action, you can force a hostile creature to make a Dexterity saving throw (DC {{savedc:str}}). The target must be suffering from either the Prone or Condemned condtion. If they suffer from both, they have disadvantage on the saving throw. On a success, nothing happens. On a failure, the target is teleported up to 120 ft away, erupting from the earth at a position of your choosing. They are entrapped within a twisted metal cage, suffering from the Restrained condition as metal spikes pierce their body. Upon being Caged and at the start of each of their turns within the Cage, they take 2d4 Piercing damage (magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance).

The Caged creature can remake their saving throw at the start of each of their turns, after taking the 2d4 damage, freeing themselves on a success. Another creature can release them by spending an action. Being freed from a Cage of Atonement inflicts one level of Exhaustion, and it also removes the Condemned condition.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency bonus, regaining all uses after completing a long rest.

Final Judgement

At 14th level, you become the judge, juror, and executioner for those who draw your ire. For some, the other way to absolve for their sins is through the ultimate price.

You gain access to a special action that can only be used against a Prone target - Final Judgement. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC {{savedc:str}}). A Condemned creature makes this save with Disadvantage. On a success, they take 8d10 Slashing damage. On a failure, the creature dies. After using this feature, you regain the use of it after completing a long rest.
