Base Class: Monk
A monk who follows the way of the Quicksilver Soul believes that their purpose is to reach their maximum potential and work to bring out the maximum potential in others. They focus on speed, precision, and the protection of others, utilizing the fluid movements of liquid mercury.
Defense of the Growing
Those around you cannot reach their potential if they are slain in battle. Starting at 3rd Level, if an ally you can see is hit with an attack, as a reaction you may move up to half your move speed towards them. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks. If you end that movement within 5ft of the target of the attack, you may use your deflect attacks feature as though you were the target, taking any damage not deflected instead of the target.
Flow like Mercury
Focusing your body's ki, you can move like a flowing liquid in ways that make it difficult to track and predict your movements. Starting at 3rd level, by spending 2 ki points, you can cast the Blur spell as a bonus action.
Ripples on a Molten Tide
You have honed your senses in the midst of battle to a razor edge. Starting at 6th level, your reaction time is unparalleled and you can use a number of reactions every round equal to your Proficiency Bonus.
Reflection of a Karmic Wave
A good deed put out into the world will always come back to the one who performed the act. Protecting another with your reaction fills your soul. Starting at 6th level whenever you use your reaction to reduce the damage another creature would take to 0, you regain 1 ki point.
A Single Strike Abjures the Wicked
There are times where a threat arises to innocents and allies that cannot be reasoned with or turned from their path. In times like these, adherents of the Way of the Quicksilver Soul learn to unleash their stored ki in a devastating assault to completely remove the threat. Starting at 11th level, as an action, you may expend ki points to perform one of two special attacks:
- The Blade that Cleaves the Soulless - As a part of this action, make a single melee attack. On a hit, you may spend a number of ki points up to your Proficiency Bonus (minimum 1). This attack deals extra 2d6 damage for each ki point spent on this attack, and ignores all resistances. This attack deals double damage to objects and structures.
- A Flash of Metal Sears the Darkness - Expend a number of ki points up to your Proficiency Bonus (minimum 1). All enemies you choose within 30ft of you that can see you must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save the target takes an amount of damage equal to 1 roll of your Martial Arts die for each ki point spent, and become blinded for a number of rounds equal to the ki points spent. On a successful save the target takes half damage and isn't blinded.
Divine Storm of One Thousand Blades
The pinnacle technique of the Quicksilver Soul, the practitioner channels the heroism of Azoth in the Battle of Irileth at the end of the starless war, giving themselves the time to save those who need to be rescued, and smite those who would dare threaten them. Starting at 17th level, as an action, you can spend 10 ki points in order to cast Time Stop. For the duration of the spell, all creatures are considered paralyzed, and you can make attacks without ending the spell.
