Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards who study Wild Magic are often chaotic, untamed, or just have a pechant for randomness.

Chaos Shield

At 6th Level, you gain the ability to alter the fate of your Wild Surges. Whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table or use Reckless Dweomer, you can expend 1 Bardic Inspiration die. Roll the die, and add or subtract (your choice) the number from the roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, changing the result in your favour.

Last Resort

At 14th level, you can use Reckless Dweomer as a reaction to taking otherwise fatal damage, even if you do not have any remaining Bardic Inspiration die. When cast this way, the chosen spell does maximum damage or heals the target for the maximum amount. The damage of the triggering attack is completely negated. You roll twice on the Wild Magic Surge table and choose either result.

You can only use this feature once, and must complete a long rest before doing so again.

Reckless Dweomer

When you choose this college at 3rd level, you gain access to Wild Magic. Whenever you cast a spell or expend a use of Bardic Inspiration, roll 1d20. On a result of 1 or 20, you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table.

Additionally, as an action, you can expend a use of Bardic Inspiration to use Reckless Dweomer: Choose any spell from a spell list you have access to and which you have spell slots for. You do not need to know the spell. Upcasting a lower-level spell is allowed. Expend the appropriate spell slot and a Bardic die, and cast the spell as normal. When cast this way, immediately roll on the Wild Magic Surge table.

The expended Bardic Die used in Reckless Dweomer is added to the damage or healing of the cast spell. If the spell is neither damaging nor healing, you gain a number of temporary hit points equal to the rolled number.
