Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

While most barbarians use weapons to deal their rage-filled attacks, those who choose the Path of the Scrapper rely on their own two fists as their greatest defense and most brutal weapons. These warriors are rough and tumble, used to street brawls and barfights, and they take their lessons from the school of hard knocks to the battlefield, utilizing speed, power, and the strength to render enemies injured or unconscious.

Pummeling Blows

3rd-level Path of the Scrapper feature

Beginning when you choose this path at 3rd level, your unarmed strikes become more powerful and swift. Your unarmed strikes deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d8 + your Strength modifier on a hit, and when you are raging, you can add your Rage Damage bonus to damage rolls for unarmed strikes. In addition, on each of your turns while you are raging, you can make an unarmed strike as a bonus action as long as you aren't wielding a shield or a weapon with the two-handed property. This bonus action attack deals 1d6 + Strength bludgeoning damage, instead of 1d8.

Square Up

6th-level Path of the Scrapper feature

You have become practiced at avoiding attacks with your athletic skill, ducking and blocking while you maintain your physical structure. When you roll initiative, if you are not surprised, you gain a +2 bonus to your Armor Class, which lasts until you are hit by a melee attack by a creature within 5 feet of you, or until combat ends. This feature's bonus increases when you reach certain levels in this class: to +3 at 12th level, and to +4 at 16th level.

Knockout

10th-level Path of the Scrapper feature

Your skill in hand-to-hand combat allows you to temporarily knock enemies unconscious on the battlefield. When you hit a Medium or smaller creature with an unarmed strike while raging, you can force them to succeed on a Costitution saving throw (DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or fall unconscious for 1d4 rounds or until they take damage. You have a number of uses of this feature equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Brutal Assault

14th-level Path of the Scrapper feature

The potency of your aggressive attacks allows you to inflict wounds that hobble and hinder those who you cause to fall victim to them. While raging, when you score a critical hit on an unarmed strike against a creature, you can inflict a Crippling Injury. When a creature with a Crippling Injury attempts an action in combat, they must make succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier). On a failure, they succumb to pain and lose their action, and they can't use reactions until the start of their next turn. The injury lasts until the creature receives magical healing or finishes a long rest.
