Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

You are a creature of undeath, for your innate magic comes from death itself. You might trace your lineage to a powerful lich, or perhaps you experienced a near-death experience, barely coming back from the cold reaches of death.

The power of lich magic has altered your very existence. Despite being technically alive, the feel of death is never very far away. At your option, you can pick from or roll on the Lich Sorcerer Quirks table to create a quirk for your character.

Lich Sorcerer Quirks
d6 Quirk
1 You are always icy cold to the touch.
2 You rarely feel the need to sleep.
3 Your blood is as black as night.
4 Your heart beats once per minute. This event sometimes surprises you.
5 You always find yourself gravitating to the nearest graveyard.
6 You blinked. Once. Last week.

Leech Life

As an action, you can make a melee spell attack against a living creature, dealing necrotic damage equal to 1d8 + your Charisma modifier on a hit. You gain temporary hit points equal to the amount of necrotic damage dealt. If this feature kills the creature, you gain twice as many temporary hit points from using this feature. The damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8). You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier(minimum one) and you regain all uses of this feature at the end of a long rest.

Expanded Spell List

Your lich blood lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a sorcerer spell. The following spells are added to the sorcerer spell list for you.

Lich Expanded Spells

Command Undead

At 6th level you learn the spell create undead and it does not count towards known spells, and does not consume a spell slot.

Undead Resolve

Beginning at 10th level, your bond with the dead has strengthened their resolve against that which is holy. Undead you control have advantage on Wisdom saving throws against Turn Undead attempts. In addition, undead you raise add your proficiency bonus to their Armor Class.

Refusal

Beginning at 18th level, you can decide to ignore death if it's too inconvenient. If a creature within 5 feet of you that you can touch (including you) drops to 0 hit points, you may use your reaction to cause that creature to drop to 1 hit point instead. You must finish a short or long rest before you can use this feature again.
