Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Falconers are rangers who form a deep bond with a bird of prey, training alongside eagles, hawks, owls, or vultures until the two fight and hunt as a single team. To a Falconer, their raptor is more than a companion—it is a trusted ally that scouts ahead, tracks elusive targets, and strikes with remarkable precision.

Years of shared experience teach a Falconer how to work seamlessly with their bird. While the ranger stalks the ground, their companion watches from above, spotting danger, uncovering hidden paths, and revealing opportunities that others might overlook. Together, they coordinate their movements and attacks, turning every hunt into a display of skill and teamwork.

Whether crossing untamed wilderness, carrying messages across distant lands, or diving upon an enemy in the midst of battle, a Falconer's raptor is both guide and partner. Bound by trust and training, they embody the sharp instincts, patience, and deadly grace of nature's greatest hunters.

Level 3: Raptor Companion

When you choose this conclave, you form a bond with a trained bird of prey. Choose an Eagle, Hawk, Owl, or Vulture as your companion.

Your chosen raptor grants you proficiency in one skill:

Eagle: Perception

Hawk: Investigation

Owl: Stealth

Vulture: Deception

If you already have proficiency in the chosen skill, you may instead gain proficiency in another skill from the Ranger skill list.

Your raptor acts on your initiative and uses the following statistics:

Armor Class: 13 + your proficiency bonus

Hit Points: 5 × your Ranger level

Speed: 10 ft., fly 60 ft.

Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: your proficiency bonus to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. • Hit: 1d4 + your proficiency bonus slashing damage.

Your raptor has Keen Sight, granting advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight, and it can take the Help action.

On your turn, you can command your raptor to take the Attack, Dash, Disengage, Dodge, or Help action. This command requires no action from you.

Level 7: Guiding Strike

Your attacks and your raptor's strikes work in tandem.

When your raptor hits a creature that you attacked earlier on the same turn, the attack deals extra damage equal to a number of d4s equal to your proficiency bonus. This damage is the same type as the raptor's attack.

Additionally, if you acted before the target in the initiative order, your raptor's attacks count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks

Level 11: Keen Senses

As a bonus action, you can share your raptor's senses.

For 1 hour, you can see through its eyes and hear through its ears while remaining aware of your own surroundings. During this time, you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Level 15: Falconry Expert

Your bond with your raptor allows it to whisk allies out of danger.

When you or an ally within 30 feet of your raptor takes the Disengage action, your raptor can use its reaction to carry that creature up to 40 feet in a straight line, flying if possible.

This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

A creature must be Medium or smaller to be moved in this way.
