Base Class: Bard
The artistry of the Jester is one of wit sharpened into a weapon. Bards of the College of Mockery spend countless hours observing others, collecting secrets, mannerisms, insecurities, and embarrassing truths that can later be woven into devastating performances. To them, every noble, hero, criminal, and commoner is simply material waiting to be used.
Their words cut deeper than swords. A single insult from a Mockery Bard can dismantle a warrior’s confidence, expose a noble’s hypocrisy, or reduce an arrogant mage to a laughingstock before an entire crowd. They understand exactly which wounds never healed and which truths their victims desperately wish to hide.
Many believe they have endured a bard's sharp tongue before, only to discover that the College of Mockery operates on an entirely different level. Their performances are legendary for leaving audiences breathless with laughter while their targets stand humiliated, speechless, or driven into furious retaliation. Entire reputations have been destroyed by a single well-crafted jest.
These jesters do not always perform for wealth or prestige. A copper piece, a warm meal, or even simple amusement may be sufficient payment. Sometimes they require no payment at all, particularly when they decide that a pompous noble, a cruel tyrant, or an overconfident adventurer simply deserves to be roasted before the world. To a Mockery Bard, ridicule is both an art form and a public service, and no ego is too large to escape their extraordinary oratory skills.
