Base Class: Monk
The Way of the Raging Fire is a martial tradition focused on turning a monk’s inner discipline into destructive, flowing fire. Rather than casting spells like a traditional caster, this subclass enhances core monk abilities—mobility, flurries of blows, and Focus Point usage—with fire-based effects.
Level 3: Disciple of Fire
At 3rd level, Your training grants you instinctive control of flame. You learn the Control Flames cantrip.
The flames within you allow you to channel your spiritual force through your weapons. When you attack with a Monk weapon, you can use your Wisdom modifier instead of Strength or Dexterity for the attack and damage rolls. The weapon must not have the Heavy property.
Level 3: Fists of Flame
As a bonus action, you can spend 1 Focus Point to ignite your body in raging flames for 1 minute.
While this feature is active, your unarmed strikes deal fire damage equal to twice your normal bludgeoning damage, and you may use your Wisdom modifier in place of Dexterity for the attack and damage rolls of your unarmed strikes.
In addition, once on each of your turns, one of your unarmed strikes deals additional fire damage equal to your Martial Arts die.
Level 6: Steps of the Blazing Trail
When you take the Step of the Wind bonus action, blazing flames trail behind your movement until the start of your next turn. During that time, you can move through other creatures’ spaces, which are treated as difficult terrain for you.
The first time each creature enters a space you moved through on this turn, or starts its turn there, it takes fire damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die.
In addition, if you move at least 20 feet before hitting a creature with an unarmed strike on your turn, the attack deals additional fire damage equal to your Wisdom modifier, and the target cannot make opportunity attacks until the start of its next turn.
Flammable unattended objects you move past may ignite at the DM’s discretion.
Level 6: Divine Flame Arrow
At 6th level, you learn to condense your inner fire into a single devastating projectile. As an action, you can spend 2 Focus Points to create and launch a blazing arrow of flame at a creature you can see within 120 feet. Make a ranged attack using your Wisdom modifier. On a hit, the target takes 6d8 fire damage.
The flames erupt violently upon impact, igniting the target until the start of your next turn. The next time the target takes fire damage before then, it takes additional fire damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.
When you reach 11th level in this class, the damage increases to 8d8. At 17th level, the damage increases to 10d8.
Level 11: Burst of Burning Fury
Beginning at 11th level, your bond with flame grants you resistance to fire damage, allowing you to withstand even intense heat with little harm.
Your mastery over burning energy also strengthens your Fists of Flame. The fire you conjure is so potent that it ignores resistance to fire damage, scorching even those creatures normally protected from such effects.
Additionally, when you use your Fists of Flame, you can choose to expend 2 Focus Points instead of 1 to heighten its intensity. When you do so, the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your ability save DC (8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus) or be blinded until the start of your next turn, its vision overwhelmed by searing heat and choking smoke. On a successful save, the creature suffers no additional effect beyond the normal damage.
Level 17: Heart of the Inferno
At 17th level, you fully master the flame within, becoming immune to fire damage as your body and spirit are wholly attuned to its power.
Whenever you expend one or more Focus Points on your turn, a fiery aura ignites around you until the start of your next turn. While this aura is active, you shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet, your presence marked by a constant, flickering blaze.
Your flames burn with overwhelming intensity, causing your fire damage to ignore resistance to fire damage.
The first time each turn that a creature within 5 feet of you hits you with a melee attack, it takes fire damage equal to your Wisdom modifier plus your Martial Arts die.
Finally, creatures that take fire damage from your monk features cannot make opportunity attacks against you until the start of their next turn.
