Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Way of the Red Oni is a forbidden and destructive monastic tradition. A creature using this subclass cannot concentrate on spells while maintaining Aura of Destruction or Kuruoshiki Oni. If you are concentrating on a spell when you enter either form, your concentration immediately ends.

You cannot benefit from Aura of Destruction and Kuruoshiki Oni at the same time. If you enter Kuruoshiki Oni while Aura of Destruction is active, Kuruoshiki Oni replaces Aura of Destruction.

3rd Level: Demon’s Fury

As an action, you may spend 1 ki point to empower your body with Red Oni force for 1 minute.

For the duration, your Martial Arts die increases by one die size: d4 to d6, d6 to d8, d8 to d10, or d10 to d12.

This feature ends early if you are incapacitated.

You may use this feature only once, and you regain the ability to use it when you finish a long rest.

3rd Level: Aura of Destruction

As a bonus action, you may spend 1 ki point to unleash a destructive aura for 1 minute. While this aura is active, your eyes glow red, your body radiates violent energy, and your movements become savage and forceful.

While Aura of Destruction is active, you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain a +1 bonus to AC.
  • Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.
  • You have advantage on Dexterity saving throws.
  • Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or monk weapon, you may deal extra necrotic damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die.

At the start of each of your turns after the first, you must spend 1 ki point to maintain Aura of Destruction. If you do not, the aura ends.

The aura also ends early if you are incapacitated, or if your turn ends and you have neither attacked a hostile creature nor taken damage since your last turn.

When Aura of Destruction ends, you take necrotic damage equal to your Monk level. This damage ignores resistance and immunity.

You can use Aura of Destruction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

6th Level: Unending Strikes

Your Flurry of Blows becomes more violent, but also more draining.

When you use Flurry of Blows while Aura of Destruction is active, you may spend 1 additional ki point to empower the flurry.

If you do, one attack from your Flurry of Blows deals extra necrotic damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die.

At 11th level, both attacks from your Flurry of Blows may deal this extra necrotic damage.

At 17th level, if both Flurry of Blows attacks hit the same creature, that creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your ki save DC or be unable to take reactions until the start of your next turn.

This feature does not increase the number of attacks granted by Flurry of Blows.

11th Level: Devil’s Bolt

You can compress your destructive ki into a bolt of dark energy.

As an action, you may spend 2 ki points and make a ranged spell attack against one creature within 60 feet, using your Wisdom modifier for the attack roll.
