Base Class: Fighter
One must head to remote societies that still hold tradition close to heart to find a Bladedancer’s home. Honor, Truth, and Justice are virtues held by a Bladedancer. They spend their lives honing their skills as both warriors and diplomats that only use violence as a last resort. They are deadly warriors that are fearsome in battle all throughout their life as the training they go through makes them stay stronger even as age sets in.
Fighting Style
At 3rd level, you gain one of the following fighting styles.
Dueling While you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon.
Two-Weapon Fighting When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.
Flourish of the Blade
At 3rd level, you learn flourishes that are powered by special dice called Finesse Dice.
Finesse Dice: You have 3 Finesse Dice which are d8s. A die is expended after use and you regain all uses after a short or long rest. You gain additional Finesse dice at 7th level, 10th level, and another at 15th level. You can expand these dice after you hit a target with a weapon that has the finesse property.
Flourishes: At 3rd level, you learn 3 flourishes of your choice which are listed below. You can only use one flourish per attack. Each time you level up you can exchange one flourish you know with another of your choice.
You learn 1 additional flourish at 7th, 10th, and 15th level.
Saving Throws: Some of your flourishes may require the target to make a saving throw. Your Flourish DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier.
Flourishes
Assisted Flurry- When you hit a target that is within 5ft an ally you can spend one Finesse Die to create an opening for your ally. Your ally can use their reaction to make a melee attack against the target. They add the finesse die to their attack roll.
Acrobatic Dodge- (Prerequisite Level 5) As a reaction when you are hit with an attack you can expend one Finesse Die to minimize the incoming attack. Reduce the damage taken by the die roll + half your fighter level rounded down.
Blade Storm- (Prerequisite level 8) You can make a whirlwind of assaults to strike many enemies near you. As an action, you can spend a finesse die to choose a number of creatures within 10ft of you, up to your Dexterity modifier. Each target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, the target takes slashing damage equal to 3 finesse die + half your Fighter level rounded down. On a success, the creature takes half damage.
Defensive Flourish- As a bonus action you can expend one finesse die to prepare for incoming attacks. Your AC increases by the number rolled until the start of your next turn.
Disarming Strike- When you hit a creature you can spend a Finesse Die to attempt to make the creature drop one object of your choice. The die roll is added to the attack’s damage, and the target must make a Strength Saving throw. On a fail, the object is flung up to 10ft away in a direction of your choice.
Distracting Strike- As a reaction, when an ally makes an attack against a target that is within 5ft of you, you can spend a Finesse Die to distract the target. You ally gains advantage on the attack roll and adds the Finesse Die to the attacks damage roll.
Evasive Strike- When you hit a weapon attack you can spend one of your Finesse Die to create an opening for your to move around the battlefield. Add the die roll to your attacks damage roll. Additionally, you can move up to half your movement. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Flurry of Blades- When you strike a target you can expend one of your Finesse Die to cut down foes near your target as well. The target as well as any creature of your choice that are both adjacent to you and the target takes damage equal to the number rolled. The damage is the same damage type as your weapons.
Precise Strike- (Prerequisite Level 11) Through your precision you can target the weak spots in your targets armor to make a powerful strike. Add your finesse die to your attack roll. If your total attack roll is equal to or higher than the targets AC+10, then the attack is treated as a critical hit.
Inspirational Flourish- As a bonus action, spend one Finesse Die to bolster your allies with an intense display of grace in the battlefield. Roll you finesse die and choose a number of allies equal to your Charisma modifier that can see you. Each target gains temporary hit points equal to the die roll for the next minute. Creatures cannot benefit from this ability again until they finish a short rest.
Taunting Flourish- When you hit a target with an attack roll you can spend one finesse die to taunt your target. Add the die roll to the attacks damage, and the target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they have disadvantage on attack rolls against other targets besides you until the end of your next turn.
Toppling Strike- When you hit a target with an attack roll you can spend one Finesse Die to make the target fall prone. Add the Finesse Die to the attacks damage, and the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or fall prone.
Star Preformer
At 7th level, you are a gift to the people around you with your grace and ability to put on a show. You become proficient with disguise kits. Also, you gain proficiency in either the Performance or Acrobatics skill, if you are already proficient then your proficiency bonus for that skill is doubled.
Improved Finesse Dice
At 10th level, your finesse dice become d10s.
Masterful Flourish
At 15th level, you have mastered the art of the blade. When you take the attack action you can invigorate yourself giving you the following benefits until the end of your turn.
- You can make a number of attacks equal to your proficiency bonus for this attack action
- Your speed increases by 10 feet and your movement doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity
- You critically strike on a 19 or 20
Once you use this ability you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Superior Finesse Dice
At 18th level, your finesse dice become d12s.
