Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

A melee sorcerer that uses their internal Phoenix like flame to power a blade of flame

Wings of Rebirth

Excess eternal flame comes from your blade to create wings of a Phoenix on your back

Wings of Rebirth

You gain resistance to fire damage

You gain the extra attack feature with your Phoenix blade

As a Bonus Action, blazing phoenix wings erupt from your back, lasting for 10 minutes.

While the wings are present:

• You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
• Your Phoenix Blade deals an additional 1d8 fire damage on each hit.
• Your Phoenix Blade sheds bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet.

You can use this feature once per Long Rest. You can also use it again by spending 5 Sorcery Points.

Phoenix Rebirth

Phoenix Rebirth

Death cannot claim one touched by the eternal flame.

When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can choose to erupt into a storm of phoenix fire instead of falling unconscious.

You immediately:
• Drop to 1 hit point instead.
• End one effect causing you to be charmed, frightened, paralyzed, poisoned, or restrained.
• Teleport to an unoccupied space you can see within 30 feet.

Each creature of your choice within 30 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Sorcerer spell save DC.

On a failed save, a creature takes 12d10 fire damage, or half as much on a successful save.

After the explosion:
• Your Phoenix Blade is immediately conjured if it isn't already.
• Your Wings of Rebirth activate without expending a use.
• You regain hit points equal to half your Sorcerer level (rounded up).

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a Long Rest.

Phoenix Blade Infusion

Phoenix Blade Spell Infusion

Your Phoenix Blade becomes a conduit for your innate phoenix magic, storing a fiery spell until it strikes true.

Infusing the Blade

As an Action, you can spend 1 Sorcery Point to infuse your Phoenix Blade with a Sorcerer spell that deals fire damage. Alternatively, you can spend 2 Sorcery Points to infuse it as a Bonus Action.

The spell must:
• Be a Sorcerer spell you know.
• Deal fire damage.
• Have a casting time of 1 Action.
• Be cast using a spell slot no higher than your Proficiency Bonus.

When you infuse the blade, you expend the spell slot as normal. The spell remains stored until:
• You hit a creature with your Phoenix Blade.
• You finish a Long Rest.
• You infuse another spell into the blade.

Releasing the Spell

The next time you hit a creature with your Phoenix Blade, the stored spell is immediately cast from the point of impact.

• The weapon attack is resolved normally.
• On a hit, the spell takes effect immediately against the target.
• The spell retains all of its normal effects, including any saving throws it requires, using your Sorcerer spell save DC.
• After the spell is released, the infusion ends.

Phoenix Blade Spells

Phoenix Blade Spells

You always have the following spells prepared. They count as Sorcerer spells for you, and they don't count against the number of Sorcerer spells you can prepare.

Sorcerer Level | Spells

3rd | Searing Smite, Scorching Ray, Flaming Sphere

5th | Fireball

7th | Fire Shield, Wall of Fire

9th | Flame Strike, Immolation

Phoenix Blade

Phoenix Blade

As a Bonus Action, you conjure a weapon forged from immortal phoenix fire in your empty hand. When you create it, choose the form of any simple or martial melee weapon.

The Phoenix Blade has the following properties:

• It uses the chosen weapon's properties (such as Finesse, Reach, Heavy, Light, Versatile, or Two-Handed), but not its damage die or damage type.
• You are proficient with it.
• You can use your Charisma modifier instead of Strength or Dexterity for its attack and damage rolls.
• It deals 1d8 fire damage on a hit.
• It counts as a magical weapon.
• It can be used as your Sorcerer spellcasting focus.

The blade lasts until you dismiss it (no action required), you are incapacitated, or you conjure another Phoenix Blade.

Phoenix Flesh

Phoenix Flesh

The immortal flame has transformed your body into a vessel of rebirth.

While you aren't wearing armor or wielding a shield, your Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier.

In addition, your maximum hit points increase by an amount equal to your Sorcerer level. Whenever you gain a Sorcerer level, your maximum hit points increase by 1.
