Base Class: Barbarian
Eyes. On. Me.
Barbarians who walk the Path of the Unbending are invariably haughty, drawing the gazes of all enemies they rage against as well as punishing them to dare and touch their magnificence. Prickly and easily offended, these barbarians will stop at nothing to shine brighter than the sun even if it blinds the world to their light.
Level 3: Contempt
While unarmored, you can choose your AC to be 10 + your Constitution modifier + your Charisma modifier.
When you enter Rage, you can choose to reduce your AC by your Charisma modifier. While raging with this penalty, you gain the following effects:
- Whenever an enemy damages you, they are inflicted with the Contemptuous status till the end of your next turn.
- When an enemy with the Contemptuous status deals damage to you, you take additional damage equal to your Rage damage. This damage is the same type as the triggering damage.
- When you deal damage to an enemy with the Contemptuous status while using Reckless Attack, you deal additional damage equal to twice your Rage damage.
- At the end of your turn, you can choose to force all enemies within 60 ft. of you to make a Wisdom saving throw, with the DC being 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. On a failure, enemies with the Contemptuous status have the duration extended till the end of your next turn, and enemies without the status gain disadvantage on attack rolls against all creatures other than you.
Level 6: Dazzling Glare
You gain a bonus to Intimidation checks equal to your Strength modifier.
Additionally, when you damage an enemy with the Contemptuous status, you can choose to glare at them with unbridled fury. You can roll an Intimidation check and the enemy must make a Wisdom saving throw using the result of the check as the DC. On a failure, the enemy's speed is halved while they have the Contemptuous status, and the extra damage they deal to you while they have the status is negated.
You can use this feature once per short rest, and you can expend one use of your Rage to recharge this feature (no action required).
Level 10: Shadows beneath Magnificence
While using the Reckless Attack feature, your critical range is increased by 1. Additionally, you can roll a number of additional base weapon damage dice equal to your Rage damage when determining the extra damage for a critical hit.
You also gain a new effect for your Brutal Strike feature:
Blows from the Masses: Till the start of your next turn, whenever the target takes damage from a creature other than you, they take additional damage equal to your Charisma modifier. If the target has the Contemptuous status, they take additional damage equal to your Constitution modifier + your Charisma modifier instead. The damage from this effect can only be applied thrice per turn.
Level 14: Awe
If all enemies in Initiative have the Contemptuous status, you can expend one use of your Rage (no action required) to turn the status into Awestruck instead. Enemies with the Awestruck status count as having the Contemptuous status as well for the sake of earlier subclass features.
- The Awestruck status lasts for 1 minute.
- While at least one enemy has the Awestruck condition, you gain a bonus to your Strength and Constitution saving throws equal to half your Charisma modifier, and to your Charisma saving throws equal to half your Strength modifier.
- You gain resistance to all damage dealt by an enemy with the Awestruck condition. If the damage cannot be resisted, then your attacks deal an additional 3d6 Psychic damage against the enemy. You do not gain this extra damage if you resist at least one damage type used by the enemy against you.
- An enemy with the Awestruck condition that attempts to damage a different creature while you are in its reach must a Wisdom saving throw, with the DC being equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. On a failure, the enemy must target you with the damage. On a success, the enemy takes 5d10 psychic damage and can damage the other creature as normal.
