Base Class: Fighter
"I'll Provocate a spark, Revelate a rebirth, and ascend the moon high into Aphelion..."
Aphelion is the point at which a celestial body is farthest from the star it orbits, and where one's sanity reaches its darkest point. You have fallen down to the darkest depths of Aphelion, and then clawed your way back with powers stained Violet by Envy and Self Hatred.
Violet Envy - Level 3
"Born at the bottom and forced to live off scraps, the child was always looking up..."
Moonlight
Your Envy and Self Hatred can be condensed into energy to empower your strikes.
Whenever you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you gain 1 Phase, up to a maximum of 10. You lose all remaining Phase when combat ends.
Once on each attack you make as part of the Attack action, before making the attack roll, you can expend 1 Phase. If the attack hits, it deals additional psychic damage equal to a number of d6s equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down).
Attacks that expended Phase do not give Phase on hit.
Contempt for the Mighty
When a creature makes a melee weapon attack against you, you can use a reaction to attempt a "Clash" with the attacker. You make a melee weapon attack roll using the weapon you are wielding, if your attack roll is higher than the attacker's attack roll, the attack is deflected and you can make an attack against the creature as part of the same reaction. If your attack roll is lower than the attacker's, then the attack proceeds as normal.
If a creature makes a ranged weapon attack against you, you can use a reaction to attempt to deflect the attack. Clash the attack as you would if the attack was a melee attack, but if you successfully deflect the attack, you may move up to half of your speed towards the attacker before attempting the counter-attack, if the creature is out of range after moving, the counter-attack is cancelled.
When you deflect an attack with this feature, you can empower the attack through your 'Moonlight' feature.
Rat's Guide to Survival
When you make the bonus action attack granted by the Light property of a weapon, you can add your ability modifier to the damage roll. If you used your 'Moonlight' feature to empower an attack from one of your weapons and use that weapon to make the bonus action attack, the attack deals an additional 1d6 psychic damage
Wraith - Level 7
"I'll become a great hero with this, harness its powers, and we can all enjoy the Good Life, right?"
"Please, I don't want to kill you guys..."
Provocate a Spark
As a replacement for one attack you make as part of the Attack action, you can expend between 1 and 10 Phase to unleash a crescent of violet energy.
Make a ranged weapon attack using the same ability modifier, proficiency bonus, and weapon magic bonus as the weapon used to create the slash. This attack is not made with a ranged weapon and cannot benefit from features that require one.
The slash has a range of 10 feet plus 10 feet for each Phase expended.
On a hit, it deals the weapon's normal damage plus 1d6 psychic damage for each Phase expended.
Revelate a Rebirth
You can condense your Envy and Self Hatred into a Fissure of Violet energy.
As an attack replacement, you can expend between 2 and 10 Phase to slam your weapon down, causing a Fissure of energy to erupt in a line Infront of you. For every stack of Phase expended, the range increases by 10 feet, and for every 2 phase expended, the damage increases by 1d8.
All creatures in the line must make a DC (8 + strength modifier + proficiency bonus) Dexterity Saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes the full damage. On a success, the creature takes no damage, If you expend 5 or more Phase, a creature instead takes half damage on a successful save.
Immediately after using this feature, each creature of your choice within 5 feet of you must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone and pushed up to 10 feet away from you.
Absolute Sin Resonance: Envy - Level 10
"Anyone who's been subject to both static shock and the Envy of others must know that the latter stings in the same manner as the former does."
- Hoenheim, lead researcher of [Redacted].
Cynicism
For every stack of Phase you have, all of your attacks deal an additional 1 Psychic damage on hit. When you take damage from an attack, make a DC (5 + attacker's attack bonus) wisdom saving throw (Maximum of DC 20). On a failure, you lose 1 stack of Phase, on a success, you can make a melee weapon attack against the attacker as a reaction.
When expending Phase, heal health equal to half of expended Phase (Minimum of 1).
At level 16, heal health equal to expended Phase instead of half.
At level 18, heal health equal to your expended Phase plus twice your proficiency bonus instead of half of expended Phase.
Inferiority
Each time an ally creature deals damage to a hostile creature, Your next attack gains a +1 to hit (Maximum of +3).
Optionally, you gain a new Flaw, reflecting your spiral into Aphelion: "I don't like it when people seem more capable than me, or make me feel useless, and I can spiral into extreme contempt and envy of someone very easily."
Sinner: Invidiae
This feature only activates if there is at least one other ally you can see with a "Absolute Sin Resonance: [_]" feature.
At the end of each of your turns, gain 1 Phase. When gaining Phase stacks from this feature, heal health equal to half of your proficiency bonus.
The Farthest and Darkest... - Level 15
"I'll claw my way out of this Rathole, to the furthest point away from it... To... 'Aphelion'. "
Nearing Aphelion
At the end of your turn, if you have 5 or more Phase, you can choose to expend 4 Phase to unleash a Pulse of energy. All creatures (including allies) within 40 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw, on a failure, the creature is knocked prone and has their speed become 0 until the end of their next turn. On a success, the creature is pushed 20 feet away from you.
When a creature fails the saving throw, you may also choose to have the creature be moved 10 feet towards you.
When you use this feature and at least 1 creature is affected by it, you gain 1 "Phase of Aphelion". You can have a maximum of 3 Phase of Aphelion stacks.
For each Phase of Aphelion stack you have, your AC is reduced by 1, your attack bonus increases by 1, and your damage increases by 1.
When Initiative ends, you lose all Phase of Aphelion stacks, and you heal health equal to (Proficiency bonus x Phase of Aphelion stacks)
Experienced
You gain an additional fighting style, and one ability score of your choice increases by 1.
...Point of Aphelion - Level 18
"That's right... This is the furthest and darkest-"
"-Point of Aphelion. The point of bottomless hatred... And endlessly spilling sorrow...!"
Aphelion's Darkplunge
While you have 3 Phase of Aphelion, at the end of your turn you may expend all of your Phase and Phase of Aphelion to unleash a catastrophic burst of violet energy.
Each creature within 40 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Fighter save DC.
On a failed save, a creature takes psychic damage equal to one d10 for each Phase expended, is knocked prone, and is frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage.
Hostile creatures below half their hit point maximum have disadvantage on this saving throw.
Allies take half damage on a failed save and one-quarter damage on a successful save. Allies do not suffer any additional effects.
Defibrillating Shock of Envy
Once per day, when you would drop to 0 hit points, you can instead negate the lethal damage and expend all Phase, you heal an additional 5 Health for each Phase expended, on top of the healing received from your 'Cynicism' feature.
