Base Class: Barbarian
Through mystical arts, a connection to nature, or possibly the bite of a very messed up radioactive werewolf, your rage lets you become a wolf. A very, very giant wolf. About the size of a car, this is an impressive comparison for people who know what a car is. Your barbarian is not one of those people.
Level 3: Transform (aka, become really big wolf)
When you enter your Rage, you can transform into a giant wolf. While transformed, you retain your game statistics, but your size becomes Large, your walking speed increases by 10 feet, and you gain a Bite attack.
Your Bite is a natural weapon, which you can use to make an Unarmed Strike. It deals 1d10 piercing damage instead of the normal damage, and you can use Strength for its attack and damage rolls. When you hit a creature with your Bite while Raging, you can force it to make a Strength saving throw against your Barbarian save DC. On a failed save, the creature is knocked Prone.
The transformation lasts until your Rage ends, or until you choose to end it early.
While in Wolf's Form, you also have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Level 3: Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
As a Bonus Action, you can assume the form of an ordinary wolf or large dog for a number of hours equal to your Proficiency Bonus. While in this form, you use the statistics of a Wolf, regardless of which form you choose. You can divide these hours among multiple transformations, and you regain all expended hours when you finish a Long Rest.
If you are in this form when you enter your Rage and a creature is surprised by your transformation, you can use your Reaction to immediately make one Bite attack against that creature.
If you transform into your Giant Wolf form directly from your wolf or dog form, you can choose one creature within 5 feet of you. That creature is considered surprised by your transformation for the purposes of this Bite attack, even if it wasn't otherwise surprised.
Level 6: Rampage
Your Bite attacks count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
While you are Raging, once per turn whenever you hit a creature with your Bite, you can apply one of the following effects to the attack:
Rend. The target takes an extra 1d6 damage of the Bite's type.
Savage Bite. You regain Hit Points equal to your Constitution modifier.
Toss. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 10 feet away from you. (Same as bite Prone save.)
Level 10: Big Bad Wolf
While Raging, you can become Huge instead of Large.
You gain two additional options for your Bite.
Throw. When you hit a creature with your Bite, you can forgo the Bite's damage and throw the creature instead. The creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Barbarian save DC or be hurled up to 20 feet away from you and knocked Prone.
Hold in Jaws. When you hit a creature with your Bite, you can forgo the Bite's damage and hold the creature in your jaws, provided it is at least two sizes smaller than you. A creature held in this way is Restrained and Grappled, and it can make a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check against your Barbarian save DC at the end of each of its turns, escaping on a success. While you are holding a creature in your jaws, you can't make Bite attacks against other creatures.
These options can be used in place of the Bite's normal Prone effect or any effect granted by your Rampage feature. You can use only one of these effects on each Bite.
Level 14: Fenris Wolf
Your wolf form becomes supernaturally empowered.
While Raging:
- You are immune to the Frightened condition.
- Your Bite deals 2d12 damage instead of its normal damage.
- You can use Throw or Hold in Jaws against creatures one size smaller than you, rather than two sizes smaller.
- When you reduce a creature to 0 HP with your Bite, you can immediately move up to your Speed without provoking Opportunity Attacks.
Additionally when you reduce a creature to 0Hp you can devour it, destroying its body and causing you to regain hit points equal to you Cond Modifier.
