Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Your innate magic comes from draconic magic that was mingled with your blood or that of your ancestors. Most often, sorcerers with this origin trace their descent back to a mighty sorcerer of ancient times who made a bargain with a dragon or who might even have claimed a dragon parent. Some of these bloodlines are well established in the world, but most are obscure. Any given sorcerer could be the first of a new bloodline, as a result of a pact or some other exceptional circumstance.

Dragon Ancestor

At 1st level, you choose one type of dragon as your ancestor. The damage type associated with each dragon is used by features you gain later. You can speak, read, and write Draconic. Additionally, whenever you make a Charisma check when interacting with dragons, your proficiency bonus is doubled if it applies to the check.

Draconic Spells

Draconic Spells

Starting at 1st level, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Draconic Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of sorcerer spells you know. The following spells must be manually added to your spellbook: Chromatic Orb, Dragon's Breath, Incite greed, Summon Draconic Spirit

Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be a evocation or an abjuration spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list.

Draconic Resilience

As magic flows through your body, it causes physical traits of your dragon ancestors to emerge. At 1st level, your hit point maximum increases by 1 and increases by 1 again whenever you gain a level in this class.

Additionally, parts of your skin are covered by a thin sheen of dragon-like scales. When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC equals 13 + your Constitution modifier.

Elemental Wrath

Starting at 6th level, when you cast a spell on the sorcerer spell list that deals damage of the type associated with your draconic ancestry, add your Charisma modifier up to your Proficiency bonus times (rounded down) to separate damage instances of that spell. This feature requires the spell casted to have a saving throw required by the target or an attack roll to hit that target. At the same time, you can spend 1 sorcery point to enhance the intensity of your spell, turning immunity to that damage type into resistance, or resistance into flat damage.

Draconic Might

At 14th level, as a bonus action you gain the ability spend 1 or more sorcery points to undergo a draconic transformation that lasts for 10 minutes. For each sorcery point you spend, you can gain one of the following benefits of your choice lasting until the transformations end.

  •  You gain blindsight with a 60-foot range around you. Your pupils also turn into slits and your eyes change color to match the element of your ancestor.
  •  You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed. As you fly, scaly or leathery draconic wings burst from your back to keep you aloft.
  •  You may convert the damage type of a spell cast into the damage type associated with your draconic heritage by spending an additional sorcery point when the spell is successfully cast. Scales of your ancestor adorn your body and the air around you crackles in elemental power.
  •  When a 20 is rolled on the d20 of an attack roll made with a leveled spell dealing damage of the type associated with your draconic ancestry, you may regain a number of sorcery points equal to the spells level once per turn. The air burns with elemental might around you, signifying the strength of your draconic bloodline.

Dragonfire Soul

Beginning at 18th level, the explosive wrath of dragons might has seeped into your very being. Your own soul.

You are immune to the damage type associated with your draconic heritage. You gain the following benefit:

Any ranged spell attack made that deals damage of the type associated with your draconic legacy is treated as a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20.
