Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

This subclass draws upon the powers granted to the child of cultists devoted to the ancient and insatiable sin of Greed. Through generations of dark worship and exposure to their patron's influence, the character becomes a vessel for Greed's power, awakening something unnatural within their soul. This connection manifests as a split personality, with the second persona embodying the character's deepest avarice and possessing an insatiable desire to acquire, consume, and claim everything of value. As the character grows stronger, the influence of Greed becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish from their own thoughts and desires.

The Sin of Greed is a powerful and ancient patron, offering immense supernatural power in exchange for allowing its influence to take root within the character. Its gifts are often unnatural, grotesque, and deeply unsettling, twisting the body and mind in ways that reflect Greed's endless hunger. Those who embrace its power may find themselves capable of manipulating wealth, coveting the possessions of others, and transforming their own bodies into instruments of acquisition and destruction. The more power the character accepts, the more difficult it becomes to determine where their own ambitions end and Greed's insatiable will begins.

Level 3: Greed's Gift

When you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points, the Sin of Greed rewards you for claiming another possession.

You gain temporary hit points equal to your Warlock level + your Charisma modifier.

Additionally, when you gain these temporary hit points, you can choose to have your split personality briefly take control. Until the end of your next turn, you have advantage on the next ability check you make to steal, acquire, or manipulate someone into giving you an object.

Level 3: Covetous Spells

Warlock Level Spells
3rd Charm Person, Identify
5th Locate Object, Suggestion
9th Clairvoyance, Fireball
13th Fabricate, Leomund's Secret Chest
17th Creation, Dominate Person

Level 6: Greed's Fortune

The Sin of Greed refuses to allow its vessel to accept failure.

When you make an ability check or saving throw, you can roll 1d10 and add the number rolled to the total, potentially turning failure into success.

You can use this feature once per short or long rest.

Level 10: Covetous Resilience

The Sin of Greed teaches you that everything has value, including your own survival.

When you finish a short or long rest, choose one damage type other than Force, Necrotic, or Radiant.

You gain resistance to that damage type until you choose another one with this feature.

Your body may visibly change depending on what you covet, becoming unnaturally resilient against the things that threaten your possessions.

Level 14: Claim Beyond This World

When you hit a creature with an attack, you can attempt to claim its very existence as your possession.

The creature must make a Charisma saving throw against your Warlock spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature vanishes into a private extradimensional vault belonging to the Sin of Greed.

The creature is incapacitated and removed from the battlefield until the end of your next turn. When it returns, it takes 10d10 psychic damage as the experience of being temporarily possessed by another will tears at its mind.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
