Monk
Base Class: Monk

Amongst the myriad groups and beliefs that exist throughout existence, there are few that are as universally reviled and prominent as the Blood Cult, a martial, even demonic sect characterized by its reverence for strength through brutality, violence, and cruelty. Blood Sect members and disciples, while able to blend in with the masses, are usually distinguished when they manifest their unique blood energy and techniques. Even then, due to their frequent employment of human sacrifice, blood rituals, and sucking of vital energy to enhance their martial prowess, leading to physical changes like crimson vein patterns, red eyes, or pale complexions, with members often suffering from blood-based psychosis, including obsessive compulsions and a loss of empathy, viewing the world through a completely blood-centric lens.

Though, Blood Sect members beware, for as vicious and powerful Blood Techniques are, they only work if the opponent has real, living blood (can't work on Constructs, Elementals, Plants, Ooze and Undead)

Level 3: Blood Agate Technique

You expand 2 Focus Point and imbue your hands, fingers, and limbs with crimson sanguine energy for 10 minutes, turning them into weapons of blood jade. Your unarmed attacks deal an extra Martial Arts Die, and you may change the base damage to piercing or slashing. Additionally, once per turn when you hit a creature with an Unarmed Strike and deal damage, you can expend 1 Focus Point to deal extra Necrotic damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die plus your Wisdom modifier.

Level 3: Blood Refining Technique

You can consume and instantly absorb blood both in and out of combat, allowing you to recover and boost yourself. While the Blood Agate Technique is active, after making a successful unarmed strike, you can regain a number of hit points equal to the half the damage dealt. Additionally, you learn and can cast Blood Bolt at will, and can expand 1 Focus Point each to cast Boil Blood, Sanguine Secrets, and Sanguine Shield.

Level 6: Blood Disruption Technique

You can disrupt the flow of blood throughout an enemy's body, preventing them from accessing their abilities. Whenever you make Stunning Strike, you can expand an additional Focus Point to deal extra Necrotic damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die plus your Wisdom modifier, as well as attempting to freeze and disrupt their blood flow, potentially seal the target's spellcasting or class abilities. The target must succeed on a Constitution Saving throw or have their spellcasting or class abilities with expandable resources (like Fighter's Action Surge, Monk's Focus Points, Ranger's Favored Enemy, etc.) disabled until the start of their next turn.

Level 11: Blood Reversal Technique

Once per short rest, you can expand 3 Focus Points and reverse the flow of blood within your own body for one minute, dramatically increasing your own power and resistance at the cost of your sanity, gaining the following:

Benefits:

  • You gain resistance to all damage types but psychic damage.
  • Your movement speeds are doubled.
  • All damages done through your Blood Techniques are dealt as maximum damage.

Detriments:

  • You gain vulnerability to psychic damage (ignores any resistances, immunities and absorption from any sources).
  • You gain saving throw disadvantages against mental spells and effects.

The first time you do so, you suffer no adverse effect. If you use this feature again before you finish a short rest, you take 2d12 necrotic damage at the end of each of. Each time you use this feature again before finishing a short rest, the necrotic damage increases by 1d12. This damage ignores resistance and immunity.

Level 17: Blood Sura Arts

You have inherited the true legacy of the Blood Sect, elevating your standing and skill. Your blood techniques now work on all creature types, and you gain the following abilities:

  • Damage done by your Blood Agate Technique now bypasses resistances, and treats immunities as resistances.
  • When you use your Blood Refining Technique, you can instead choose to regain Focus Points equal to by rolling your martial arts die.
  • Your Blood Disruption Technique is now evolved to the Blood Boiling Technique. The target takes additional 2d10 necrotic damage, and if they fail the save, any spell or ability they are maintaining concentration on is dropped. If they are not maintaining concentration, an ongoing spell or ability (such as a Berserker's Rage or Wizard's Bladesong) ends instead.
  • You can now expand Focus Points in equal amounts of the spell level and cast any Sangromancy Spell (provided it's not banned).
