Warrior of the Tempest

Warriors of the Tempest embody the fury and freedom of the storm. Through disciplined movement and controlled ki, they channel thunder through their strikes and call lightning into their limbs. A Tempest Warrior moves with the suddenness of a lightning flash, their blows crashing like thunder and their presence heralding the coming storm.

Level 3: Tempest Strikes

You gain a Tempest Strike unarmed attack that deals your choice of 1d6 + your Dexterity modifier Lightning damage or 1d6 + your Dexterity modifier Thunder damage. This damage die scales with your Martial Arts die as you level up. When it deals Lightning damage, it has a reach of 10 feet. When it deals Thunder damage, it deals half damage on a failed attack roll.

Level 3: Thunderous Step

By expending 1 Focus Point as an action, you can move up to two times your walking speed. When you end this movement, each creature of your choice within 5 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your Focus DC or take an amount of Thunder damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die on a failure, or half as much damage on a successful save.

Level 6: Tempestuous Soul

You gain resistance to Lightning and Thunder damage. In addition, once per turn, you can cause an attack you make to deal an additional 1d4 Lightning or Thunder damage.

Level 11: Electric Rebuke

As a reaction to being hit with an attack, you can expend 3 Focus Points to force the attacker to attempt a Dexterity saving throw against your Focus DC. On a failed save, they take 4d10 Lightning damage, or half as much on a success.

Level 17: Raging Storm

You can unleash the force of a powerful hurricane around you. As a bonus action on your turn, you can expend 4 Focus Points to make a number of Tempest Strike unarmed attacks against enemies within 15 feet of you equal to your Wisdom modifier + your Proficiency bonus. These special Tempest Strikes get a critical hit on a 19 or a 20.
