Base Class: Bard

Flyting is an ancient tradition, a poetic exchange of insults that has been practiced since the time of the Gods. Many of the improvisational poems would turn about cowardice or perversion. Many use Flyting before a battle, to fluster their opponent and gain the advantage. Others use it as a form of entertainment, many the Flyte can be found in taverns and drinking halls. Bards of this college are well respected not only for their skills in battle but their silver tongues and quick wits.

Quick Wit

When you choose this College at 3rd level, you learn the Vicious Mockery Cantrip, if you did not know it already. This does not count against Cantrips known.

Fight or Flyte

At 3rd level you master the ability of flyting in the heart of combat. As an action you may spend one bardic inspiration to challenge a creature that you can see within 30 feet of you that you share a language with to battle of wit and insults. Name an ability and then you and the creature make a contested Charisma (Performance) checks. If you succeed, you have advantage on attack rolls, saving throws and ability checks using the named ability against that creature. If you fail, you have disadvantage on attack rolls, saving throws and ability checks using the named ability against that creature. On a tie, there is no effect.

 

The Roaring Trumpet

At 6th level, on your turn when you hit with an attack you may unleash a quick insult in verse at your opponent. Target must make a Charisma saving throw equal to your spell save DC or else take 1D10 Psychic Damage. 

To a Louse

At 14th level, as an action, you may spend a bardic inspiration dice to target a creature that you can see and directly insult them. They must make a charisma saving throw equal to your spell save DC or else become stunned for 1 minute.
