Mask Tinkerer

an artificer who has stepped beyond the boundaries of conventional craft, binding magic not only into steel or stone but into the very faces worn by mortals. These artificers learned their art in Whidia, a land steeped in curses, wandering spirits, and ancient witchcraft. Few dare to travel there, and fewer still return unchanged. But those who do often carry a gift—dangerous, powerful, and deeply personal.

Tool Profenciency

When you learn this subclass at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with woodcarvers tools, tinkers tools, masons tools, and smiths tools.

Mask Tinkerer Spells

Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Mask Tinkerer Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don't count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Level Five: Alter Self, Invisibility

Level Nine: Intellect Fortress, Protection from Energy

Level Thirteen: Spirit of Death, Hallucinatory Terrian

Level Seventeen: Enervation, Create Spelljamming Helm

Crafted Mask

Beginning at 3rd level, your magic can be imbued into a mask of your making as a conduit of your magic. During either a short or long rest you can use the appropriate tools to make a mask of either Bone, Wood, Stone, or Metal. You can only imbue one mask with magic at a time. If you craft another mask from a different material your previous mask destroys itself.

You gain the following benefits from wearing your mask:

• You gain advantage on deception checks
• The mask attaches to you and cannot be taken off against your will

Mask Types

Beginning at 3rd level, you can craft distinct Mask Types during a short or long rest. These masks can resemble any design the user wishes.

Bone Mask. 

• Grants the wearer proficiency in intimidation checks if they are not already proficient. If they are, allows them to use proficiency twice.
• Grants the wearer an additional 5ft movement speed.

Wood Mask.

• Grants the wearer proficiency in religion checks if they are not already proficient. If they are, allows them to use proficiency twice.

Stone Mask.

• Grants the wearer proficiency in heavy armor if they are not already proficient. If they are, allows them to use proficiency twice on their AC.

Metal Mask.

• Grants the wearer proficiency in perception checks if they are not already proficient. If they are, allows them to use proficiency twice.

Extra Attack

beginning at level 5 you can attack twice, rather than once, when you make an attack action on your turn.

Additional Mask

Beginning at 9th level, you can craft up to two crafted masks at a time. The benefits and powers of the masks only work for you.

You can don and doff between your masks as a bonus action.

Vultus Fur

At level 15 your Crafted Masks gain additional benefits stated below.

Bone Mask.

• When you make an intimidation check or move at least 10ft on your turn you can use an Action once per long rest to emit an aura of dread around you or an allied creature of your choice within 30ft for one round.
  • Enemies within 10 feet must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become Frightened of the wearer until the end of their next turn.

Wood Mask.

• When you make a Religion check or cast a spell you gain advantage on your next saving throw made before the end of you next turn.
• Additionally, once per short rest, you may detect celestials, fiends, undead, or fey within 30 feet for 1 minute (no concentration).

Stone Mask.

• When hit by an attack gain resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage until the start of your next turn.
• If you are already resistant, instead gain temporary hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier.

Metal Mask.

• When you make a Perception check or hit a creature with an attack you may mark that creature until the end of their next turn.
  • you gain advantage on attacks against the marked creature, and the creature has disadvantage on attacks against the you.
