Bard
Base Class: Bard

College of Fortune bards are typicallt gamblers, daredevils, cardsharks, or performers who have learned to manipulate probability. They don't predict the future. They bet on it and more often than not, the universe pays out.

Level 3: Fortune's Gamble

Starting at 3rd level, you can use fortunes gamble a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest. When you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can Gamble before rolling the the D20. You may expend a Bardic Inspiration and then choose one of the following:

Safe Bet

-You gain a +2 bonus to the roll. If the roll succeeds, nothing else happens. If the roll fails, you may expend an additional bardic inspiration die to your roll.

Risky Bet

-Before rolling, declare odd or even, and then roll the die. If the number rolled matches your declaration, you may add a Bardic Inspiration die roll to your total without expending it, and you gain temporary hit points equal to the Bardic Inspiration die roll. If the number does not match, you gain disadvantage on the D20 roll.

All In

-Before rolling, you gain advantage on the triggering roll. However, if you still fail the roll, you take psychic damage equal to twice your Bard level.

Level 6: Lady Luck's Favor

Starting at 6th level, when you or a creature you can see within 60 feet rolls a D20, you can use your reaction to add or subtract a D6 to the roll. You can do this after seeing the roll but before knowing whether it succeeds or fails.

Lucky Streak

There's reward in taking risks.

-Whenever Lady Luck's Favor causes a roll to turn a failure into a success or a success into a failure, you gain one Lucky Streak.

-Whenever Lady Luck's Favor does not change the result of the roll, you lose one Lucky Streak.

You can have up to a maximum of 3 Lucky Streaks. Whenever you have one or more Lucky Streaks, you can spend one to gain advantage an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. You lose all unspent Lucky Streaks when you finish a long rest.

You can use Lady Luck's Favor a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and regain all uses on a long rest.

Level 14: Master of Fortune's Will

At 14th level, once per short or long rest, you may roll two D20 instead of one and choose which result to use. After choosing the result, the unused die is stored as a Fortune Die. You can use your Fortune Die in one of the following ways:

Give or Steal Luck

-When a creature within 60 feet makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you may use your reaction to replace its roll with your Fortune Die.

Cash Out

-When you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving thow, you may expend your Fortune Die and use that result instead. Furthermore, you may treat your Fortune Die as a natural 20. If you, choose to treat it as a natural 20 when it would not have been, you must roll a D6:

  • 1-You gain 2 levels of exhaustion
  • 2/3-You take 4d10 psychic damage
  • 4/5-You lose all remaining Bardic Inspiration uses
  • 6-Nothing happens
