Base Class: Fighter
Those who find any chance to find an opening in battle are noted as Opportunists. Combat is a challenge to predict and act upon the actions the opponent is geared to make. An opportunist will punish their opponent for the choices they make in battle ensuring they must be without error to find victory.
Punish
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you learn opportunities in your opponents that you can watch for and take advantage of in combat. You learn two opportunities of your choice, which are detailed under “Opportunities” below.
You learn one additional opportunity of your choice at 7th, 10th, and 15th level. Each time you learn new opportunities, you can also replace one opportunity you know with a different one.
Block
When a creature moves into your reach, you can use your reaction to make a shove against that creature.
Catch
When a creature within your reach provokes an attack of opportunity from you, you can use your reaction to make a grapple against them instead of making an attack.
Chase
When a creature you can see moves away from you, you can use your reaction to move up to your half your movement toward them.
Leading the Shot
If a creature you can see takes the dash action or moves 20 feet within range of your ranged weapon, you can use your reaction to make a ranged weapon attack against them.
New Opportunities
If a creature within your reach or within the normal range of your ranged weapon takes the help, search, or use an item action, or fails their Dexterity (Stealth) check to hide against you, or stands from prone, you can use your reaction make a weapon attack against them.
Notched
If you are wielding a ranged weapon, you can use your reaction to make a ranged weapon attack when a creature that you can see moves into or out of a 5-foot radius of you. This attack does not have disadvantage.
One Step Ahead
Creatures cannot avoid provoking an attack of opportunity when they move out of your reach using their movement.
Parry
When you are hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to make a Dexterity saving throw against a DC equal to the attack roll. If you succeed, the attack misses instead.
Zoning
When a creature you can see moves more than 5 feet within your reach, you can use your reaction to make an attack of opportunity against them.
Combat Reflexes
Starting at 7th level, you can take one additional reaction once per round.
Once you use this feature a number of times equal to half of your proficiency modifier (round up), you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.
Additional Fighting Style
At 10th level, you can choose a second option from the Fighting Style class feature.
Battle Analysis
Starting at 15th level, if you are hit by an attack by a creature you can see, you can use your reaction to analyze the attack. Attack rolls made against you for the same attack by the same creature are now made at disadvantage.
If you use this feature to analyze another attack, you lose the effect against these attacks.
Extended Combat Reflexes
Starting at 18th level, you can use the Combat Reflexes feature a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier before a rest.
