Base Class: Monk
Prerequisite: To take this subclass, you must select Changeling as your species.
Warriors of the Sharpened Flesh are changelings who have transformed their innate shapeshifting into a deadly martial art. Through intense discipline, they learn to reshape their bodies in ways ordinary changelings cannot, stretching their limbs to impossible lengths and forming blades, spikes, and other weapons from their own flesh and bone. To these warriors, the body is more than a vessel—it is a living arsenal, able to assume whatever form the moment demands.
Level 3: Mutated Strike
You have the power to alter your natural weapons, growing claws or reinforcing your fists. Whenever you deal damage with your Unarmed Strike, it can deal your choice of Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing damage. In addition, while both of your hands are free, you gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls with Unarmed Strikes.
Level 3: Abstract Forms
Unlike most changelings, you view your unaltered form as the perfect canvas for transformation, evolving your monochrome base on a whim rather than adopting personas. At the start of your turn, you can spend 1 Focus Point to adopt a highly mutable, blank form. This form lasts for 10 minutes. For the duration, you gain advantage on Constitution saving throws, your reach increases by 10 feet, and your speed increases by 5 feet.
Level 6: Specialized Alteration
When you activate your Abstract Forms, choose one of the following alterations, which lasts until Abstract Forms ends. As a Bonus Action while Abstract Forms is active, you can replace your current alteration with another alteration from this feature.
- Amorphous Movement: You can move through spaces up to 1 inch in size, even if your equipment wouldn't normally be able to fit with you.
- Bulging Muscles: You gain advantage on Athletics checks, and your size becomes Large if the space you are in is big enough.
- Grasping Limbs: When you hit a target with an Unarmed Strike, you can pull it up to 10 feet towards you.
- Lashing Tendrils: When you hit a creature with an Unarmed Strike and deal damage to it, you can also attempt to grapple that creature. In addition, you are always considered to have a free hand for the purpose of grappling.
- Many Eyes: You gain advantage on Perception and Investigation checks.
- Skin & Bones: You gain advantage on Acrobatics and Stealth checks, and your size becomes your choice of Small or Tiny.
- Thorned Flesh: Creatures that attack you with a melee attack while within 5 feet of you take Piercing damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die.
Level 11: Quick Shift
You can activate your Abstract Forms without taking a Bonus Action. In addition, while your Abstract Forms is active, you can expend 1 Focus Point to replace one of your Specialized Alterations with another option from that feature without taking an action.
When you activate your Abstract Forms, you can spend up to 3 additional Focus Points. For each additional Focus Point spent, you can gain one additional Specialized Alteration for the duration.
Level 17: Ever-Changing Abomination
Your mastery over your mutable form allows you to become a constantly shifting mass of limbs, tendrils, eyes, muscle, and sharpened flesh.
When you activate your Abstract Forms and spend 3 additional Focus Points using your Quick Shift, you gain every Specialized Alteration for the duration instead of gaining three additional alterations.
In addition, while your Abstract Forms is active, you can take a Magic action and expend 1 to 5 Focus Points to unleash a violent surge of mutations in every direction. Each creature of your choice within 30 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Focus Point DC. On a failed save, a creature takes three rolls of your Martial Arts die, plus two additional rolls for each Focus Point spent beyond the first. The damage is Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing (your choice). On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage.
