Monk
Base Class: Monk

Masters of unarmed combat, these monks specialize in deep, vital blows, footwork, and countering enemy attacks. They won't go down easy, and they for sure won't quit.

Level 3: Boxing Technique

The warriors of the Ring have 4 core techniques which they focus on, which are:

  • Vital Blows. You can target a creatures vital points with your unarmed attacks. When you do this, you subtract half of your proficiency modifier and dexterity modifier from the attack roll, and add it to the damage roll.
  • Footwork. You can dodge blows even easier. While within 5 feet of a hostile creature, you can sacrifice 3/4 of your movement in order to gain +1 to your armor class
  • Counters. When a creature attempts an attack roll on you within 5 feet, you may use your reaction to expend 2 focus points in order to attempt to counter the attack. Make an attack roll against their attack roll. If you win, you add the damage their attack would have done if it had connected to your attack. If you fail, add your martial arts dice to the damage you take.
  • Defense. Your defensive stance allows you to reduce incoming damage. You may spend an action to raise your guard. While your guard is raised, all damage you take is reduced by half of your proficiency modifier.

Level 6: Ten Count

Once per day, when you reach zero hit points, you can expend a reaction and 2 focus points to fall to instead regain hit points equal to your monk level.

If you fall prone, you only require 5 feet of movement to regain your footing.

Level 11: Top Form

As an action, you may expend 4 focus points to attempt a KO Punch. Make an unarmed attack roll against a creature. This punch will deal 4 of your martial arts die plus your proficiency bonus, and if the creature is reduced to 0 hit points, it is knocked unconscious instead of killed. If you miss this attack roll, and the enemy is not immobilized or incapacitated in some way, you will be open to an attack of opportunity from the creature.

You can also provoke a creature, expending 2 focus points to force their attention onto you. If the creature fails a wisdom saving throw, it has disadvantage on attack rolls on any target aside from you. This effect ends if you attack any other creature, if you cast a spell that targets a hostile creature other than the target, if a creature friendly to you damages the target or casts a harmful spell on it, or if you end your turn more than 30 feet away from the target.

Level 17: King of the Ring

You have finally become worthy of the title of King of the Ring. You have mastered the Boxing techniques, and are ready to show the world what you can really do.

You gain the ability to let loose an unending barrage of punches. When you use Flurry of Blows, you may expend 30 feet of your movement and 1 focus point to add another attack. This can only be done once per turn.

Your K.O Punch now does 8 of your martial arts die plus your proficiency modifier, and the creature will be knocked prone if it fails a constitution saving throw.

Your jabs have been perfected. Once per turn, you can make an unarmed attack against a creature within 5 feet of you without expending your action, bonus action, or reaction.
