Monk
Base Class: Monk

These warriors place their trust in weapons.

Path of the Blade

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your special martial arts training leads you to master the use of certain weapons. This path also includes instruction in arts or tools, with an emphasis on skill. You gain the following benefits:

Way of the Sword. Choose two weapons. You gain proficiency with them if you don’t already have it, and they are treated as monk weapons. Whenever you finish a Long Rest, you can practice weapon drills and change one of those weapon choices. Any feature, ability, or item that applies to Unarmed Strikes also applies to your weapons. (Some examples: replacing an Unarmed Strike with a weapon attack, attempting a Stunning Strike with a weapon, or applying Wraps of Unarmed Power to your weapon attacks.)

Iaijutsu. When you roll Initiative add your Wisdom modifier to your roll, and you may move up to half your speed and make a weapon Attack.

Way of the Arts. You gain proficiency with a tool of your choice, and Expertise with a skill that you have proficiency with.

One with the Blade

At 6th level, you extend your focus into your weapons, granting you the following benefit:

Deft Strike. When you hit a target with a weapon, you can spend 1-3 focus point to cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target equal to a number of your Martial Arts dice per focus points spent. You can use this feature only once per turn.

Sharpen the Blade

At 11th level, you gain the ability to augment your weapons further with your focus. At the start of your turn, you can expend up to 3 focus points to grant your weapons a bonus to attack and damage rolls equal to the number of focus points you spent. This lasts 10 minutes.

Ronin’s Last Stand

When you gain the Bloodied condition you may take an extra turn, interrupting the current turn. This is a full turn of action economy. When you do so you may expend a number of hit dice equal to your proficiency bonus, and gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your roll. Once you have, you must finish a long rest before doing so again.
