Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Some Warlocks do not need an outside force to gain unnatural magics. Some creatures' own ambition and their drive to devour those around them, either socially or physically, are enough to pull forth an unrelenting force of magic. Once a Warlock goes down this path they must fed its hunger whatever it craves or it will consume them.

Expanded Spell List

The Hunger lets you choose from an extended list of spells when you learn a Warlock spell. The following spells are added to the Warlock spell list for you.

Internal Hunger Expanded Spell List
Spell Level: Spells

Gnawing Hunger

At 1st level, you become proficient with your bite. The damage for which is 1d4 + your charisma modifier.

When you bite a creature you may gain temporary hit points equal to half the damage (a minimum of 1), but may not have more than 12 temporary hit points gained form this feature.

At higher levels your bite damage becomes stronger. At 5th level bite does 2d4, at 11th it becomes 3d4 and at 18th level you gain the full amount of damage in temporary hit points and the maximum temporary hit points from this feature becomes 20.

Consume Ability

At 6th level, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you temporarily gain one of their abilities, agreed upon by you and your Dungeon Master, until the next dawn when the effect wears off, leaving you intensely hungry. You may only use this feature once per long rest.

Compulsive Devouring

Starting at 10th level, you gain the ability to increase you ability scores by devouring parts of slain enemies. The target need not be a creature you slayed personally, but if you eat of its flesh, you gain +2 in whatever ability score was the strongest for the dead creature. This can extend your ability score beyond 20 but no more than 24. The effects of this feature end after 24 hours. You may only have this effect active from one creature at a time, but may relinquish this advantage to gain it from another slain creature.

You have a dark need to ingest the abilities of others in this way. If you do not do so at least once a week you will suffer 1 point of exhaustion and must roll on the long term madness table in the DMG. On subsequent days, if the hunger has not been satisfied, you gain another point of exhaustion each day you fail to use this feature, and a roll on the long term madness table. If you gain 5 points of exhaustion, you must roll on the indefinite madness table. This exhaustion cannot be relieved by rest until this feature is satisfied.

You Are What You Eat

At 14th level, you can consume dirt, drink water, or inhale fire or a pure gas and become an Elemental of the corresponding element for 10 min. Like Wild Shape, once the hit points of the elemental are diminished, the form is dropped and you return to whatever your hit point total was before the transformation.

You may also use this feature to physically become the shape and appearance of other creatures. You must consume a part of this creature to gain its shape, physical traits, and ability scores of said creature. Your abilities, mental traits, and hit points however, remain the same. For example you can use your dragon form for its strength, and flight, but you cannot use its breath weapon, you may use eldritch blast however. You gain advantage on any Deception(Charisma) or Persuasion(Charisma) checks that rely on you being in this form. This part of this feature does not work in conjunction with Compulsive Devouring, but any benefits gained from that feature return when you revert back top your regular form. Using this feature does, however, satisfy your compulsion to each the flesh of your enemies. The allotted time for being in this form depends on the creature's size as depicted below. You revert back to your normal form if you reach 0 hit points, but otherwise you must remain in this form until the end of the feature's duration.

Creature Size to Transformation Duration
  • Creature of equal size: 4 hours
  • Creature of 1 size different: 1 hour
  • Creature of 2 sizes different: 10 minutes
  • Creature of 3 sizes different: 1 minute

You may use this feature as many times equal to your Charisma modifier, a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4. You do not regain any of these charges until you take a long rest.
