Base Class: Barbarian
A barbarian on the path of the ethereal takes a journey in the spirit world. He can disconnect his spirit from his body and travel in the ethereal plane. His "rage" is not an angry one, but calm and measured, making his opponents uneasy by his unwavering and seemingly unaffected manner, sometimes even closing his eyes without losing his mark.
Trance
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, your rage becomes a dreamlike trance sensing other creatures through their aura. Your speed is halved. You know every creatures Wisdom Score within 20ft of you. You have advantage on attacks against a creature with a lower Wisdom Score than you, and the creature has disadvantage on attacks (including spell attacks) against you. You can acquire the blinded condition like normal, but it has no effect, while you are raging.
Dreamwalk
Beginning at 6th level, you can dreamwalk while resting. You can fall asleep in an instant. While sleeping on a short or long rest, you can choose one of the following:
- For 1 hour your spirit can walk in the ethereal plane within 200ft of your body. You can see in the material plane, but can't hear, smell or touch. You can extend the duration by 1 hour for every usage you spend.
- You can scry on a creature (not an object) on the same plane as you for 10 minutes, if you hold something that the creature has touched. The target can make a Wisdom saving throw against 8 + your Proficiency + your Wisdom modifier. On a successful save, the scry fails, but the target is not aware of the attempt.
You can choose at any time to either return to normal sleep or to wake up.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (at least once). You regain all uses after finishing a long rest.
Ethereal Body
At 10th level, you gain the ability to transition in the ethereal plane for a short time while raging. If you are the target of an attack or area effect you can use your reaction to flicker in and out of the ethereal plane to make it miss you completely.
You can use this feature once per rage.
Displace
At 14th level, while raging, you can use an action to throw your spirit against a creature within 30ft and let your body snap after it. You displace the target by 5ft in a straight line and deal 1d10 force damage per 5ft distance you travelled. If the target is size large or less, it has to make a Constitution saving throw against 8 + your Proficiency + 1 per 5ft distance. On a fail it falls prone.
You can use this feature 3 times. You regain all uses after finishing a long rest.
