Base Class: Sorcerer

You bear the blood of the ancient god of Mystra, he who is called the protector of the weave. Little is known about how her power came to be in the mortal realm, but you share some lingering connection to this deity. Her magic flows through your body, endowing you with the power of the mages of old.

As well as this, your power releases itself in strange ways and your sorcerer may have a unique quirk related to their psionic abilities. Choose one of the following:

 Arcane Quirks

  • Whenever you cast a spell, bright light glows from your mouth and eyes.
  • The weave is seen around your hands when you cast a spell
  • Mist wisps off of your head
  • You are deathly cold to the touch
  • Glowing runes cover your arms chest
  • Your eyes turn entirely one color

Quick build stat priority: INT > CON > DEX > WIS=CHA=STR

Arcane Knowledge

Starting at 1st level, your spellcasting ability is Intelligence and you use Intelligence in place of Charisma for any sorcerer class ability. As well as this, you do not gain proficiency in Charisma saving throws at 1st level, instead you gain it in Intelligence saving throws. You can also learn spells from the either the Wizard or the Sorcerer spell list.

Telepathic

At 1st level, you can communicate telepathically with any creature within 30 feet, at 6th level this range increases to 60 feet. You don’t need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic messages, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language.

Mystic Knowledge

At 1st level, as an action, you can gain proficiency in a skill or tool, or speak any language for 10 minutes.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Awakened Mind

At 6th level, you can cast Detect Magic once per short rest for free. You may spend two sorcery points to cast Detect Thoughts. This requires no components and cannot be affected by Counterspell or Dispel Magic.

Also, your hands glow as they now act as your spellcasting focuses for your spells. +1 at level 6, +2 at level 11, +3 at level 16.

Kinetic Mastery

At 14th level, you can hover at a speed equal to your walking speed. You cannot go higher than 5 feet above the ground.

Ascendant Form

Starting at 18th level, you no longer abide by the simple laws of life. You gain resistance to force damage and non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. You no longer age, need to eat, or sleep as your arcane energy sustains you.

Also, if you die, roll a d20. On a 10 or higher, you discorporate instead of dying. You and your gear disappear. You appear at a spot of your choice 1d4 days later on the plane of existence where you died, having gained the benefits of one long rest.
