The Astral domain focuses on the cosmos, and seeking to comprehend and discover its mysteries. Often called astrologists, clerics of this domain often spend countless hours charting the stars, mapping constellations, and observing their movements. This fervent study gives these clerics a keen sense of direction, and they are cherished as cartographers or ship navigators. In the world of Rua-ōn, clerics of the goddess Rua may suscribe to this domain. In the world of Faerûn, deities such as Selûne, Umberlee, the goddess of the sea, or even Waukeen, the goddess of trade, may have followers that draw power from the heavens.

Bonus Cantrip

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain the dancing lights cantrip if you don't already know it, and you can conjure up to eight lights with it. 

Wayfinder

Also at 1st level, your faith and study of the cosmos has blessed you with strong navigation abilities. You gain the following effects:

  • You gain proficiency in the Survival skill and Cartographer's tools.
  • While you are holding a map that depicts a location you are in, your exact location will be marked with a tiny, magical light that resembles a star. If the map is inaccurate or false, this effect does not occur. 
  • As long as the stars in the sky are visible, you cannot become lost by nonmagical means.  

Channel Divinity: Astral Guidance

At 2nd level, when a creature within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll, ability check, or a saving throw, you can use your reaction to grant them advantage on that roll, using your Channel Divinity. 

Channel Divinity: Celestial Navigation

At 6th level, as an action, you may present your holy symbol, which begins to shimmer with an astral radiance. For 1 minute, all traps, secret doors, and environmental hazards within 30 ft. of you become lit by a pale, dim light, revealing their location to you and your party. These objects can be artificially constructed or naturally occurring.

In addition, for the duration of the effect, you have advantage on all Survival checks.

Potent Spellcasting

At 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric cantrip.

Cosmic Alignment

At 17th level, the cosmos favors you when the stars align. Whenever you or an ally you have given Astral Guidance have advantage on a roll, an additional d20 may be rolled to determine the highest roll.
