There is great power in all creatures, and none understand that more than the Bloodletter. Your pact with this being has opened your eyes to the power flowing through your veins and in time, those of all creatures around you.

Bloodstained Spellcasting

Because your power comes from a being with ultimate power over blood, your spells may become tinged with its influence. A Warlock of the Bloodletter may cast Infestation and conjure mosquitoes instead of locusts, or create a spray of acidic blood when casting Acid Splash. Using this feature when casting spells offers no difference in effect or mechanics and is purely a thematic change.

A Price Paid in Blood

In exchange for the knowledge and power granted to you by the Bloodletter, a sacrifice must be made. Cutting into your flesh with surgical precision, you offer up your own life essence as a Blood Sacrifice in exchange for further power. Your Blood Sacrifice is represented by a limited number of d6s (d8 at level 10) whose rolled value you subtract from your hit points. If the damage inflicted by your Blood Sacrifice causes you to fall unconscious, its effect continues as normal. You can offer up an amount of sacrifices equal to your Constitution modifier +2 per long rest. If all Blood Sacrifices are expended before a long rest, you gain one level of exhaustion.

Additionally, when you finish a long rest, you can choose one of the Blood Sacrifices you know and replace it with another Blood Sacrifice that you could learn at that level.

Blood Sacrifice

At 1st level The Bloodletter has granted you a portion of their control over life essence. Using the ritual dagger gifted by your patron, you can open your veins and use your own lifeblood to augment your abilities and hinder your enemies with a Blood Sacrifice.

Whenever you take a long rest, you can swap one of your Blood Sacrifices for another.

A Fine Pink Mist

You can expend one Blood Sacrifice to cast Fog Cloud at 1st level without consuming a spell slot.

Blood Puppet

At 11th level you can expend two Blood Sacrifices to temporarily seize the blood of a creature within 20 feet of you in their veins, forcing them to move to fit your will. The targeted creature most make a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC or be controlled. The target is Restrained for the duration, only able to move if you will it. While under your control, you can use your reaction to command the creature to do one of two actions. Blood Puppet has no effect if the target is an Undead, Elemental, Ooze, or Construct.

Bend. You move the creature's body against its will, forcing it to carry out a physical task that is within its natural ability to perform. Melee attack rolls made by the creature while under your control have disadvantage as their body strains against your influence. At the end of the creature's turn, it makes another Strength saving throw. On a success, Blood Puppet's effect ends.

Break. You force the creature to move in unnatural ways, twisting and folding beyond its normal range of motion and taking 6d8 bludgeoning damage. At the end of the creature's turn, it makes another Strength saving throw. On a success, Blood Puppet's effect ends.

Blood Rush

At 5th level you can use a bonus action at the end of your turn to expend 2 Blood Sacrifices to take an extra action immediately.

Blood Spilt

You can expend one Blood Sacrifice to cast Grease without consuming a spell slot.

Coat of Nails

At 11th level you can expend a Blood Sacrifice to cover an enemy within 30 feet of you in your own crystallized blood. Make a ranged spell attack. On a hit, the target takes 4d8+Blood Sacrifice piercing damage as the crystals pierce their body. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become poisoned until the end of their next turn.

Eldritch Empowerment

At 5th level you can expend one Blood Sacrifice to cast Enhance Ability at 2nd level without consuming a spell slot.

Healing Donation

At 11th level you can expend two Blood Sacrifices to cast Mass Cure Wounds at 5th level without consuming a spell slot. When you cast it in this manner you are unable to target yourself with it's effect.

Labored Beats

When you reach 5th level, you can control the flow of blood in your enemies to such a degree that you can effect the very movement of their bodies. You can expend one Blood Sacrifice to cast Slow without consuming a spell slot. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Plasmatic Parry

As a reaction you can expend a Blood Sacrifice, and impose disadvantage on an enemy making a melee attack towards you or an ally within 10 feet of you.

Scabrous Scales

Wreathed in your own blood, you create crystallized armor for yourself. Expend a Blood Sacrifice and add half of the resulting number +1 number to your AC. The effect is ended when you are hit by an attack.

Transfusion

Veins of the Old One

When you reach 11th level you can expend one Blood Sacrifice to reach out to your patron for aid. You can cast Black Tentacles without using a spell slot. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Heed the Heartbeat

At 6th level, you can cast Scrying using a Warlock spell slot. You require a long rest in order to use this ability again.

Pure Humours

At 6th level, your mastery of your own life blood has made you immune to poison and knowledgeable in the ways poisons can effect other creatures. You gain proficiency with a poisoner's kit if you did not have it already. When you cast a spell that deals poison damage, you can add your Charisma modifier to the damage roll of that spell against one of its targets.

Cut Deeply

At 10th level your Blood Sacrifice die changes from a d6 to a d8.

Shield of Scars

By 14th level, your dedication to your patron has left your body crisscrossed with ritual scars. Because of this it is very difficult for anyone but you to cut your skin. You gain resistance to nonmagical slashing damage.
