Base Class: Fighter
Quick on their feet and masters of parrying, Evasive Duelists are not people you want to fight one on one. They excel against slower targets, using their momentum against then to force their attacks to miss and then turning their momentum into an attack of their own. If ever forced into a bad situation, they can always use their superior agility to dance around the battle field, dodging enemies attack with ease and obtaining an advantageous position.
Parry & Riposte
Starting at level 3, you know how to deflect attacks and utilise the drop in your opponents guard.
As a reaction, you can assume a parrying stance while using a finesse weapon that lasts until the start of your next turn.
When damaged by a melee attack in this stance you can reduce the damage by 1d6 + Dexterity Modifier.
If the attack misses OR you reduce the damage of the attack to 0, you can then choose to retaliate with a singular melee attack against the enemy who attacked you.
The amount of times you can attack with one use of this feature is equal to how many attack actions are available to you and does not consume you attack action(s) for the next turn.
You can still reduce the damage taken even if you do not have any attack actions left.
The dice rolled to reduce damage increases to 1d8 at level 7, 1d12 at level 10, 2d6 at level 15 and 2d12 at level 18.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Dex modifier and refreshes when you take a short or long rest.
Quick on your Feet
At 3rd Level, you have learned how to optimise your footwork in battle.
You can take the dodge action as a bonus action.
Additionally, your movement increases by 10ft. This bonus increases to 15ft at level 10 and then to 20ft at level 18.
Defensive Duelist
Starting at level 7, you have learned how to optimally avoid and punish while parrying.
When using Parry & Riposte, you can add your proficiency bonus to you AC and half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) to any attacks made with the Riposte.
Also at level 7 whenever you use Action Surge, you gain advantage on all Dex checks and skills until the start of your next turn.
Fancy Footwork
You know how to move around a battlefield, almost like a dancer on a stage.
Starting at level 10, enemies with less movement than you make opportunity attacks with disadvantage
Flurry of Strikes
Starting at Level 15, you have learned how to harness your natural quickness to create a short burst of speed wherein you strike twice.
If you have advantage on an attack you can forgo the advantage and use your bonus action to attack again.
You can only do this once per turn and can be used a number of times equal to your Dex modifier.
You regain all uses of this feature on a Short or Long rest.
Master Duelist
At level 18, you have mastered your footwork while in combat and managed to hone your speeds to a whole new level. You are also a master of Parry & Riposte and as such, are never caught unprepared in combat.
Your Dex Score increases by 4 and the cap is raised to 24.
Additionally, whenever you enter combat and have 0 uses of Parry & Riposte, you regain 2 uses.
