Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Elementalists are fighters who use the power of the natural elements, Acid, Fire, Cold, and Thunder, to supplement their combat capabilities. Elementalists tend to have a higher respect for nature than most, some even claim to have been rescued, or blessed by forest spirits, or elemental beings.

Regardless of how their respect for nature came to be, an Elementalist can draw on an inner well of mana to draw out the power of the natural elements. Elementalists can add devastating power to their attacks, cloak themselves in the power of the elements, or even allow their bodies to become one with the elements themselves.

Well of Mana

Upon choosing this archetype at level 3, Elementalists gain a well of mana. This mana well is used to fuel the elementalists skills and abilities. The amount of mana points is equal to the characters fighter level plus their charisma modifier. This well is completely restored after a short or long rest.

Elemental Strike

Starting at 3rd level, when you take the attack action you may spend 1 mana point to add 1D6 elemental damage of your choice to the attack. If you make multiple attacks in a single turn you must spend an additional point of mana for each attack.

You may choose one of the following; Acid, Fire, Cold or Thunder

Elemental Strikes damage increases to 1D8 at 7th level, 1D10 at 10th level, and 1d12 at 15th level

Commune with the Elements

Starting at 7th level you gain a deeper understanding of the elements and the creatures that embody them. You can understand and be understood by elemental creatures of Acid, Fire, Cold, or Thunder. In addition you gain advantage on any charisma (Intimidation, Persuasion) checks when dealing those creatures.

Elemental Cloak

Starting at 10th level you may spend 2 mana points to cloak yourself in the power of an element for 1 minute. The effect of the cloak varies based on the chosen element.

You may choose from the following elements; Acid, Fire, Cold, and Thunder

The effect ends immediately if you are dropped to 0 hp or knocked unconscious.

Acid

While cloaked in acid, if an enemy ends their turn within 10ft of you they must make a constitution saving throw. On a failed save the enemy takes 1D6 damage, and half that on a successful save. The DC is equal to 8 plus your proficiency bonus plus your charisma modifier.

Cold

While cloaked in cold, any creature that passes within 10ft of you has its movement speed reduced by 10 until the beginning of its next turn.

Fire

While cloaked in fire you regain 2hp at the beginning of your turn.

Thunder

While cloaked in thunder you may, as a bonus action, instantly teleport to any unoccupied space within a 10 ft radius. This does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Improved Elemental Strike

Starting at 15th level, you may spend 2 mana points to create a burst of elemental energy from your weapon. The area of effect is based on the damage type of the weapon you are currently wielding.

Any creature in the attacks range must make a saving throw based on the chosen element. Dexterity for Thunder and Fire, or Constitution for Acid and Ice. On a failed save the enemy takes 2D8 plus your charisma modifier of elemental damage, and half that on a successful save.

Bludgeoning

When bludgeoning the area of effect as a 5ft radius around the user.

Piercing

When piercing the area of  effect is a 5 by 30ft line

Slashing

When slashing the area of effect is a 15ft cone

- Immunity to damage from the chosen element

- All weapon attacks gain 1D4 damage of the chosen element without having to spend mana points

- When taking melee damage, you deal elemental damage equal to 1D6 of the chosen element to the attacker

If you wish to change the element you are imbued with you must perform a ritual that lasts 1 day. In addition you must surround yourself in the element you are changing to.
