Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

You fight in the name of Barachiel, the Messenger.  Barachiel rules Lunia, the bottom layer of the great heavenly mountain, also known as the Silver Heaven. He commands Celestia’s defenses against incursion, though he rarely has much to do in that capacity. In addition, he is the herald and messenger of the archon paragons, even visiting the Material Plane on occasion to deliver messages of the utmost importance. He leads the trumpet archons and is a patron of mortal heralds as well.

The Citadel of Stars is Barachiel’s home on the shore of the Silver Sea. A towering fortress with gleaming white marble walls, the Citadel entertains an almost constant stream of trumpet archons coming in and going out on their missions across the planes.

Lightning Sword

Starting at 3rd level, when you enter a rage, your weapon channels electricity in the manner of Barachiel’s own weapon.  While raging, you have resistance to lightning damage and the first creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes extra damage equal to 1d4 + half your Barbarian level. The extra damage is lightning, damage, but due to its heavenly nature, it ignores lightning resistance and deals damage to creatures immune to lightning as if they instead had resistance.

Heaven's Heart

Beginning at 6th level, you can't be charmed or frightened while raging. If you are charmed or frightened when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the duration of the rage.

Clarifying Trumpet

Beginning at 10th level, you can sound a trumpet to clear the minds of your allies and inspire them.  Barachiel bestows upon you a trumpet from Heaven.  You add twice your proficiency bonus to any Performance checks made with it.

You can use your action to blow the trumpet.  Any creature of your choice that can hear you that is charmed or frightened has the effect removed, has advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened for 1 minute, and gains temporary hit points equal to your Barbarian level.

If you are raging, it continues when you use this feature.  Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Lightning Stroke

At 14th level, when holding a metal object, you can spend an action to project a bolt of lightning toward any foe within 100 feet.  Make a ranged spell attack, using either Strength or Dexterity as your spellcasting ability.  If it hits, the target takes 8d6 lightning damage.  Due to its heavenly nature, the bolt ignores lightning resistance and deals damage to creatures immune to lightning as if they instead had resistance.

The damage increases by an additional 1d6 at 17th and 20th level.

You are encouraged to replace the 20th level feature Primal Champion with the following ability:

Barachiel’s Blast

By 20th level, you have proven to Barachiel that you are worthy of wielding his own trumpet.  As an action, you conjure his trumpet and create with it a mighty blast.  Any creature of your choice within 100 feet that can hear it must make a Constitution saving throw against a DC of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.  Creatures that fail take 10d8 sonic damage and are paralyzed for 1 minute.  This affects even creatures that are deaf or immune to being paralyzed.  Creatures that succeed take half as much damage and are not paralyzed.  At the end of each of its turns, an affected creature can make another Constitution saving throw.  On a success, its paralysis ends.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
