Base Class: Barbarian
Though most barbarians are associated with the remote places of the world, a lack of civilization can often be found in the densest cities, where tyrants force outlanders to battle for entertainment. Gladiators learn to work with what they're given, taking advantage of their weapons' unique traits to please crowds and put on a show.
Emperor's Approval
When you take the Path of the Gladiator at level 3, you have gained experience in putting on a fight for a crowd. You gain proficiency in the Intimidation and Performance skills, if you do not have those proficiencies already. In addition, if you have a willing sparring partner, you are able to put on a convincing fight with that partner without causing any harm.
Whirlwind
At 6th level, your expertise with a wide variety of weapons begins to display in your bouts of rage, giving you special abilities. Depending on the traits of the weapons you hold while raging, you gain one or more of the following abilities.
- Light: You can deal weapon damage with Light weapons on turns when you successfully initiate or hold a grapple.
- Heavy: Your critical strikes with Heavy weapons dig deep into opponents and cause them to bleed out. As they lose blood, they are dealt 1 damage per turn for the next minute.
- Thrown: As long as you attack only by throwing weapons on your attack action, the attack action is only a bonus action for you.
- Versatile: You deal damage as if you were holding your Versatile weapon in two hands, even while holding it with one hand.
Crowd Pleaser
Starting at 10th level, when you strike a devastating blow against an opponent that deals at least 15 damage, your weapon attack rolls have advantage until the beginning of your next turn.
Improved Reckless Attack
At 14th level, your Reckless Attack feature improves. When you make a reckless attack, all your attacks for the rest of your turn have advantage, rather than just one. In addition, rather than giving all opponents advantage on their attack rolls against you until the beginning of your next turn, only the first attack against you has advantage.
