Monk
Base Class: Monk

When a monk-in-training shows such prodigal natural talent, scouts for a secret order recruit them for specialized training in their ancient and deadly art, known to none but themselves. The training these initiates go through is brutal and grueling, but thorough, for the monk needs absolute and perfect control of their personal ki to safely weave arcane and divine energies into it for their special techniques. Many initiates do not even survive the training, but for those that do, they become truly peerless masters of energies both mystic and divine. As members of this elite and secretive order, they are tasked with perfecting their art through their exploits, at the end of which they are expected to design new techniques and skills to pass on based on their experiences. There is no distinct identifier on their bodies as some orders require, but instead they have a very specific and unique gesture they use when greeting other monks in order to identify one another.

Elemental Infusion

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can infuse your innate ki with elemental and divine energies and spend 1 Ki Point to empower your attacks. This empowerment lasts for one attack per Monk level before dissipating. While empowered, your Unarmed Strikes are treated as attacks of one element of your choice from the following list: Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Necrotic, Poison, Radiant, or Thunder. You can change the element of choice by expending another Ki Point, but all unused attacks from a current usage will be forfeited. These attacks are treated as magical damage for the purposes of determining immunity.

Infusion of the Heart & Mind

At 6th level, you gain the ability to infuse your ki with energies that disrupt and distort those of your opponents, allowing you to cause a wide range of detrimental effects. Spend 1 Ki Point to empower your Unarmed Strikes with one of the following status effects: Blindness, Deafness, Fatigue (1), Frighten, Paralysis, Poison, Prone, or Stun. This empowerment lasts for one attack for every two Monk levels. You can change the status effect of choice by expending another Ki Point to do so, forfeiting any unused attacks from the current one. If you already have an empowerment from Elemental Infusion, Infusion of the Heart & Mind replaces that empowerment.

Infusion of the Body & Soul

Beginning at 11th level, you can use your mastery over arcane and divine energies to dispel status effects or heal yourself or others. You can spend up to 5 Ki Points to empower your touch action with the following effects:

  • 1 Ki Point: Dispel one condition OR heal for 1d4 Hit Points per Monk level
  • 2 Ki Points: Dispel up to two conditions OR heal for 1d6 Hit Points per Monk level
  • 3 Ki Points: Dispel up to three conditions OR heal for 1d8 Hit Points per Monk level
  • 4 Ki Points: Dispel up to four conditions OR heal for 1d10 Hit Points per Monk level
  • 5 Ki Points: Dispel up to all conditions OR heal for 1d12 Hit Points per Monk level

You can expend triple the required Ki Points to apply the effect to another creature. Infusion of the Body & Soul will only dispel the following conditions: Blinded, Charmed, Deafened, Exhaustion (1-5, based on choice), Frightened, Paralyzed, Petrified, Poisoned, and Stunned. You cannot dispel effects from yourself that prevent you from moving your hands. If you use this ability while in combat, all attacks against you have advantage and you cannot take reactions until your next turn.

Infusion of the Heaven & Earth

At 17th level, you have perfected the art of blending arcane and divine energies with your personal ki and have innate access to both kinds of energies. Elemental Infusion and Infusion of the Heart & Mind no longer cancel each other out, and you can expend 3 Ki Points to apply them until your next long rest. Additionally, while applying Elemental Infusion, you can expend additional Ki Points to add that many d12 in bonus elemental damage to each of your empowered attacks.
