Base Class: Blood Hunter (archived)
Every order of blood hunters seeks to eradicate the influence of evil and its minions from the world. However, members of the Order of Sanguine Steel understand that the hunt is never over. These blood hunters are resolute in their fight against dark incursion. Few blood hunters of this order choose to end their life of hunting and even fewer die at the hands of their prey.
It is not uncommon for a blood hunter in this order to be recognized, not by name, but by the weapon they carry as it is customary for a blood hunter of this order to bind themselves to a chosen weapon of great meaning. Armed with blades sharp enough to cut down any foe, the Order of Sanguine Steel seeks out the darkness wherever it may be, knowing that, once they cut the head off the snake, two more will grow in its place and the hunt begins anew.
Peerless Tracker
When you choose this Blood Hunter order at 3rd level, your Hunter’s Bane grows more potent. You now gain the benefits of your Hunter’s Bane when dealing with aberrations, giants, and monstrosities.
You also gain proficiency in your choice of two of the following skills: Medicine, Nature, Perception, and Stealth.
The Hunter's Chosen Blade
At 7th level, your chosen weapon becomes bonded to you. You may choose a single weapon to bind to yourself. While wielding this weapon, you cannot be disarmed nor can the weapon be removed from you against your will. If you are incapacitated, you can be disarmed as normal.
In addition, you can use a bonus action to summon the weapon to you so long as it is on the same plane of existence. When summoning the weapon in this way, it teleports instantly into your grasp.
Eyes of the Blooded Few
When you reach 11th level, your sight develops to further aid you in your hunt of nefarious beings. You can see in darkness, magical and nonmagical, to a range of 120 feet and have advantage on saving throws against being blinded. With this darkvision, you can only see in varying shades of red, rather than the typical grey.
Bane of the Stalker's Prey
Beginning at 15th level, your weapon attacks become especially deadly to your quarry. When you hit with a melee weapon attack, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage roll.
Blood Curse of the Vengeful Soul
At 18th level, you gain access to an ancient curse of deadly potency. You gain the Blood Curse of the Vengeful Soul for your Blood Maledict feature. This does not count against your blood curses known.
Blood Curse of the Vengeful Soul. As an action, you can become semi-incorporeal until the end of your next turn. During this time, you have resistance to all damage. Damage from amplifying a Blood Curse or applying a Crimson Rite to a weapon ignores this resistance. While in this form you take on a ghostly appearance.
Amplify. Attacks against you have disadvantage until this blood curse ends.

Posted Oct 16, 2019The name of the subclass and description suggests that it will be focused on a single weapon, but only one of the abilities focuses on a weapon. I think you should consider some serious revisions, and maybe use the different abilities you chose in different sub classes. Blood Curse of the Vengeful Soul is a good ability. The Hunters chosen blade is too. Banes of the Stalkers Prey is good, but also the same as the Revised Rangers ability, so i think it should perhaps be revised. Maybe something related to the bonded weapon. Eyes of the Blooded Few is good, but also doesn't fit the theme. Peerless Tracker, is the main ability i think needs revision, as it can be very unbalanced. Lets say someone multi classes into Revised Ranger/ Blood hunter; when you gain the Greater Favored Enemy ability you will, taking all abilities of both classes and this subclass into consideration, adv on Survival checks and Int checks on EIGHT different types of monsters, inability to be surprised by SIX types, +4 damage on two types, and adv on saving throws on two types. This renders your character extremely volatile against EIGHT out of FOURTEEN monster categories. See what i mean balance wise? Now, I will say, despite all the criticism I've given, i think this has the beginning os a couple cool subclass ideas, i would love to see a bloodhunter subclass based on a single bonded weapon. I don't hate this subclass, i just think it needs some work.
