Bard
Base Class: Bard

Whether you love to serve others, aspire to make a name for your skills, or you just plain enjoy the merriment of a party, you have chosen the College of The Hearth.

You master the tools of fun as a way to manipulate the magical folds of reality, conjuring food and drink out of thin air. The only limitation to the kinds of meals you create is the very limit of your imagination. Some call you a magister, others call you master chef.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of The Hearth at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in cooking utensils, brewing supplies, as well as one game set of your choice.

You can also use these tools as your spellcasting focus.

Packed Lunch

Inspiration strikes in a quick recipe. You can use your bardic inspiration as a bonus action to instead conjure a portable meal that fits in your hand which can be quickly digested. The type of meal you make reflects the flexible creativity of the flavors you can produce at a moment’s notice. There’s a snack for every kind of occasion.

A creature can consume a conjured meal as an action or a reaction, so long as the creature is conscious, and it heals hit points equal to the amount rolled from your inspiration die. A conjured meal lasts until you finish a long rest and provides a day’s worth of nourishment.

Additionally, choose a damage type when you conjure a meal. This includes: acid, cold, fire, or poison. Whenever a creature consumes this meal, they also gain resistance to the chosen damage type for 10 minutes.

Gracious Host

Starting at 6th level, whenever you take a short rest, you can magically prepare the area by conjuring refreshments, warming a fire, lighting incense, and emitting soothing sounds to better heal your party members. Creatures other than you that benefit from a short rest in this way can choose to regain either one used 1st level spell slot or up to two used hit die immediately after finishing the short rest.

Your song of rest also now heals maximum hit point value regardless of the roll.

Life of the Party

You are fluent in weaving through a party as a friend to all, turning even hearts of stone into liquid gold. Spreading your kind words, spurring on a lively game, and serving delectable dishes are enough to rally broken spirits and earn the respect of your peers.

Starting at 14th level, whenever you take a long rest, you can choose to host a cheerful party instead of a taking a regular long rest by spending 3 uses of your bardic inspiration, mending the spirits of you and your allies who choose to partake. When you start a long rest in this way, you may immediately cast Heroes’ Feast without expending a spell slot or material components as long as you have your cooking utensils present. A long rest modified in this way requires only half the amount of sleep or meditation and reduces one extra point of exhaustion, but a creature may still only gain the benefits of the long rest if it is uninterrupted for the full duration of 8 hours. Once you use this ability, you do not regain bardic inspiration until your next long rest.

As an added benefit, you now have advantage in charisma(persuasion) checks against any creature that has tasted your food or drink within the past 24 hours, conjured or otherwise prepared by you.

Likewise, whenever you play a game in which you’re proficient with the set, you have advantage on wisdom(insight) and charisma(deception) checks.
