Base Class: Ranger
War Chasers are mounted elites that use their mounts to their fullest potential, allowing advanced tactics and maneuvers.
Chaser's Steed
At 3rd level, you gain a beast mount that accompanies you on your adventures and is trained to fight alongside you. Choose a mount that is no larger than Medium and that has a challenge rating of 1/4 or lower. Add your proficiency bonus to the mount’s AC, speed, attack rolls, and damage rolls, as well as to any saving throws and skills it is proficient in. Its hit point maximum equals the hit point number in its stat block or three times your ranger level, whichever is higher. Like any creature, it can spend Hit Dice during a short rest to regain hit points.
The mount obeys your commands as best as it can. It takes its turn on your initiative. On your turn, you can verbally command the mount where to move (no action required by you). You can use your action to verbally command it to take the Dash, Disengage, or Help action. If you don't issue a command, the beast takes the Dodge action. Once you have the Extra Attack feature, you can make one weapon attack yourself when you command the beast to take the Disengage action.
If you are incapacitated or absent, the beast acts on its own, focusing on staying out of danger. The mount never requires your command to use its reaction.
While traveling through your favored terrain with only the mount, you can move stealthily at a normal pace.
If the mount dies, you can obtain a new companion by spending 8 hours magically bonding with a mount that isn’t hostile to you and that meets the requirements.
Stampede
While mounted you can use your reaction to give your mount advantage on a saving throw.
Increase your mount's speed by 10.
If you are mounted and moved at least 10 feet in a straight line you can use your bonus action to attack a creature at melee range with your mount as a bonus action.
The tackle deals 1d6 blunt damage and the creature must succeed a strength saving throw against 8 + your proficiency bonus and your pets strength modifier or gets shoved 10 feet away.
Saddle Archery
While mounted you can use ranged attacks against close enemies without disadvantage.
While mounted you can also use crossbows and firearms with 1 hand, but also halve their range.
Rapid Assault
At 15th level, you become a master of rapid weapon management, allowing to use the flow of combat to combine melee and ranged attacks.
When you use your action to attack with melee weapons, you can make one ranged weapon attack with a crossbow and firearm as a bonus action.
This ranged weapon attack has advantage, if you scored a hit against the creature with a melee weapon attack this turn.
While you are mounted, you can also stow a weapon, then draw another weapon as a single object interaction on your turn.
