Base Class: Barbarian
A more refined version of the Berserker subclass, intended to fix its many problems. Inspired by a certain Manga series.
Frenzied Rage
While raging, you can choose to Frenzy (this costs no action). While in a frenzied rage you gain the following effects:
- You can make a single melee weapon attack as a bonus action (regardless of how you use your action).
- When your rage ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion.
- Whilst you are raging, you ignore all effects of exhaustion (including death) until the duration of the rage ends - in which the effects then resume (including death).
Also, at 11th level when you gain the Relentless Rage feature and you rage while having 6 levels of exhaustion (for example: you start with 5 levels of exhaustion but you choose to Frenzy while you rage, giving you a 6th Level), you may - when your rage ends - make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw. If you succeed, you do not die outright (since 6 levels of exhaustion is death), but instead go unconscious with 0 hit points and must begin death saving throws. If you are subsequently returned to 1 or more hit points, you return with only 5 levels of exhaustion.
Utter Mindless Fury
You are so overcome by your rage that not even your own mind can hold you back. Beginning at 6th level, you can’t be charmed, frightened, paralyzed, or stunned while raging. Additionally, if you are charmed, frightened, stunned, paralyzed, or poisoned when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the duration of the rage.
Unnerving Presence
Beginning at 10th level, you can use your uncontrollable fury to frighten someone with a menacing presence. When rage for the first time in combat, choose one creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. If the creature can see or hear you, it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn. On subsequent turns, you can use your bonus action to extend the duration of this effect on the frightened creature until the end of your next turn. This effect ends if the creature ends its turn out of line of sight or more than 60 feet away from you.
If the creature succeeds on its saving throw, you can’t use this feature on that creature again for 24 hours.
Mindless Retaliation
Starting at 14th level, when you take damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature.
