Base Class: Paladin
The Oath of Innovation is a dedication to good through the continual develop of oneself and society. An unusually progress-focused paladin, they view political, social, and scientific advancement as tools not for eliminating evil, but for gradually bending the future towards good. Often idiosyncratic and eccentric, many who swear this Oath are devoted to gods of the arts, travel, innovation, or civilization. Nevertheless, their dedication to ingenuity makes them unpredictable and effective combatants.
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Potent Potables. As an action, you can imbue one drink or potion that you are holding with additional effectiveness, using your Channel Divinity. Add your Charisma modifier to any numerical result that the chosen drink or potion would cause (with a minimum bonus of +1). When drank, the imbiber also emits bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light 20 feet beyond that for 10 minutes. Additionally, they have holy hiccups that last for the duration of the light.
You can end this effect on your turn as part of any other action. If you fall unconscious, this effect ends.
Blessed Union of Swords. As an action, you may permanently unite two one-handed melee weapons into a single two-handed Blessed Union Weapon. It maintains the general appearance of both weapons, as if they were connected pointing away from each other at the pommels. If either weapon had the "thrown" and/or "reach" property, the Blessed Union Weapon retains those properties. The Blessed Union Weapon does not have the "finesse", "light", or "versatile" properties, and gains the "heavy" property if it did not already have it. You have proficiency with it if you had proficiency with both weapons prior to the wedding. Anyone else attempting to use the weapon does not have proficiency with it, as it feels unsettlingly wonky in their hands.
When you roll for damage, roll the combined damage dice of both original weapons. For instance, a dagger wed to a flail would roll 1d4 piercing + 1d8 bludgeoning + any other modifiers you would add to a single weapon damage roll.
When you score a Critical Hit with the Blessed Union Weapon, using your Channel Divinity, you may use your bonus action to force any creature struck by it to make an Intelligence saving throw. If the creature fails its saving throw, it can't figure out how to deal with such an odd weapon and all future attacks on that creature gain Advantage.
