Base Class: Bard
A college created to give you the fun loving spirit (haha) of being a Necrodancer, while also allowing a little bit more of active and satisfying play even at earlier levels. Enjoy! :D
A bard of the College of Necrodancey has dabbled into the deeper, darker arts of Necromancy, though the realm of the undead would be the last place they truly choose to seek commune with. The Mist. A spacious, inky black land of fog, deadly wraiths, and hideous beings bound by necrotic magic to seek out forces of light, and extinguish them into obscurity.
The archetypal Necrodancer, known as Mist Walkers in the Mist, encourage communing with such beings, imploying their dedication to the land of the Mist in convincing fashion to encourage these creatures to do their bidding. Their body as their vessel, they dance and waltz in ways the creatures of the Mist can interperate as commands and orders, following them to the best of their abilities. A Mist Walkers body is far more than a temple. It is a language, a force of reckoning, and a powerful weapon far greater than any blade or arrow.
Was your body tainted in the Mists, through which you use these dark unnatural forces to search for redemption? Or have you taken on the life of a necrotic being to enforce your own agenda, making the Mist merely your rise to power? Whatever your reasons, the Mist is in your blood. Your body is its vessel, and there is no cure. Whatever your choice, use it wisely.
Prowess of the Mist
When you join the College of the Mist Walker at 3rd level, your body becomes a temple to the Mist, allowing it to fluctuate through you, and release through your bounds and epic movements.
You gain the following benefits and proficiencies: You have Advantage on rolls against Disease and resistance to Necrotic Damage. You are proficient in the Performance skill if you are not already. The following are all spells for you, but may only be learned at the appropriate level: Misty Step, Animate Dead, Create Undead, Inflict Wounds, Raise Dead, Speak with Dead, and Toll the Dead.
Waltzers Entourage
When you join the College of the Mist Walker at 3rd level, you can invoke the aid of Mist Wraiths to do your bidding through dance and performance. Be it a simple two-step, the tango, or even an interperative dance, the creatures of the Mist follow your somantic commands willingly.
Waltzers Entourage: As an Action, you may expend 1 use of Bardic Inspiration to perform a dance to summon a Mist Wraith in an unoccupied space within 15 feet. You have access to three different creatures of the Mist at 3rd Level, and each creature shares the same stats, but can perform different Actions. You may summon one of the following three: Mist Waltzer, Mist Jitterbug, Mist Spirit Claw
On each of your turns, you can use a Bonus Action to mentally command any creature you made with Waltzers Entourage if the creature is within 60 feet of you. If you control multiple creatures, you can command any or all of them at the same time, issuing the same command to each one. You decide what Action the creature will take. You may command it to Move, Perform an Action, Attack, or Perform a Simple Task that requires 1 Action in time. If you issue no command, the creature only defends itself against hostile creatures. Once given an order, the creature continues to follow it until its task is complete.
The creature is under your control for 4 hours, until it's HP becomes 0, or until you dismiss your control over it. After 4 hours, if the creature still has hit points, it is banished back to the Mist. Creatures created by this feature cannot be healed by spells. You may only control a number of Mist Wraiths equal to your Charisma Modifier.
