Monk
Base Class: Monk

Those who follow this monastic tradition have dedicated themselves not only to the study and perfection of the physical body and the Ki that flows within, but the natural arcane ley lines that connect all creatures and beings. Many such as wizards, bards, sorcerers, etc. have dedicated their lives to the study of how to manipulate and harness this power, but those who follow The Way of the Soul Siphon study the sources and how Ki and arcane ley lines work in tandem. Used properly and with proper discipline one is able to redirect one’s natural arcane flow using Ki, and some masters have been known to use it against an opponent and even redirect that energy into themselves.

Arcanely Adept

Starting at 3 level, you have become learned in spells and how to study them. You may choose two Lv. 1 spells from the Wizard and/or Sorcerer spell list. Your casting ability is your WIS. Casting a spell expends Ki points equal to the spell level cast

Spell Attack: WIS + Proficiency                      Ki Save: 10 + WIS

Ki Block

Starting at 3 level, by studying and observing how ones Ki works in tandem with their ability to cast, you are now able to discern key places in persons physiology of where these places of arcane energy are strongest.

Once a round you are able to expend 2 Ki points when you strike an opponent. On a successful hit the target must make a CON saving throw, against your Ki save. If the target fails the save, they are no longer able to cast any spell till the end of their next turn.

Clerics have advantage on saving throws.

Arcane Resistance

You have become so knowledgeable of how the body utilizes arcane energy that you can become resistant all spell damage for 1 minute. This expends 2 Ki points

Ki Siphon

At 11 lv. you have become proficient in the study if how Ki and Arcane flow in tandem from person to person. By expending 4 Ki points you can take energy from them and transfer it to yourself. On a failed CON save the damage they take is equal to:

WIS mod + Proficiency Bonus + the level of spell last cast by the opponent

The target also loses a spell slot of the last level they cast. If there are no longer any spell slots of that level available, the next level down will be siphoned. On a successful save the target takes half damage and retains their spell slot.

Soul Siphon

You have now mastered the understanding of the symbiosis of Ki and the Arcane. Enough so that you are now able to harvest a part of one’s soul. At 17 level you now have the skills to completely rob an opponent of their abilities or to steal a part of their soul permanently. You are only able to enact each of these two abilities once on a single target after a long rest. Each requires you to expend 10 Ki points.

Arcane Thief

Your opponent must make a CON saving throw. On a failed save, they lose their ability to cast for 24 hours. At the end of 24 hours they must save again. On a failed save every spell requiring them to make an attack roll must be rolled with disadvantage, and every spell requiring a target to make a saving throw allows the target to roll with advantage. This condition can only be reversed by a Greater Restoration or Wish.

Ki Reaper

Your opponent must make a CON saving throw. On a failed save you siphon half of their remaining HP permanently, transferring it to you as temporary HP. They also become exhausted until the end of their next turn. On a successful save only a quarter of their HP will be siphoned and they resist exhaustion. The effects of this strike can only be reversed by a Greater Restoration or Wish.
