Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Perhaps you're a brave soldier who's honed their skills on the battlefield, fighting for the monarchy or maybe you're a fierce noble, trained to compete for the top prize in a prestigious dueling tournament. Regardless of your background, you've got the experience to block, dodge and parry all incoming attacks while you try to find the perfect moment to strike with a deadly (or game-winning) blow.

Loosely based on the video game FOR HONOR, this custom class hopes to aid anyone who wants to feel like a real bad mutha fighter, regardless of the weapon(s) a player chooses to use.

Advanced Dueling

At 3rd level, you gain the Dueling fighting style.

If you already have the Dueling fighting style, you instead gain one of the following effects based on the weapon you wield:

+1 bonus to AC whilst you have a weapon in one hand and no weapons or shield in the other.

+2 bonus to damage rolls when you are wielding a melee weapon with two hands or two weapons.

Parry

At 7th level, when another creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to add your proficiency bonus to your AC for that attack, potentially causing it to miss you.

Riposte

At 10th level, when another creature fails to hit you with a melee attack because of your Parry ability, you can make a melee attack against that creature, if they are in range, as part of the same reaction. You can only use this ability once per enemy per turn.

Untouchable

At 15th level, when another creature fails to hit you with a melee attack because of your Parry ability, you regain the use of your reaction.

Lethal Counter

At 18th level, when you roll to hit for your Counter melee attack, you roll with advantage. If both d20 rolls would successfully hit, the attack is automatically a critical hit. If you roll two 20s, then the targets hit points are immediately reduced to 0 instead.
