Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Roper use a new type of monk weapon: Roped Weapons. These have a reach of 10ft, and are used to Grapple, Restrain, Pull, Mute, or knock Prone targets within that radius.

Roper Technique

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use a Roped Weapon or a weapon with the Reach property to deal effects on to your enemy. You may attack enemies around objects or corners without losing cover up to 10ft, and impose these effects:

Bind
Whenever you hit an opponent with your Roped Weapon, you may spend a Ki Point to attempt to Grapple and Restrain them from 10 ft away. You may only grapple one target per weapon, and you cannot attack with that weapon until the target is free.

Pull
Whenever you hit an opponent with your Roped Weapon, you may spend a Ki Point to attempt to pull them towards you. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Ki Save DC or be pulled up to 10 ft towards you in a straight line.

Choke
Whenever you hit an opponent with your Roped Weapon, you may spend a Ki Point to attempt to wrap your weapon around the target's mouth or neck. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your Ki Save DC or be considered Mute, and unable to cast verbal spells. The target may use their Action on their turn to repeat the save. You cannot attack again with that weapon until the target is free.

Knock
Whenever you hit an opponent with your Roped Weapon, you may spend a Ki Point to attempt to knock a target to the ground. The target must make a Dexterity Saving Throw against your Ki Save DC or be knocked prone from 10 ft away.

Dual Wield

Starting at 6th level, you may use two Roped weapons at a time; one in each hand. In addition, your Pull technique can now pull targets around corners to you. Your number of attacks per round stays the same.

Multi-Target Technique

Starting at 6th level, if two enemies are within 5 feet of you or one another, you may use 1 Ki Point per target to use a Far Reach technique on both targets at the same time. For example, you may use one Roped weapon to Choke both targets at the same time, for 2 Ki Points. You may use one Far Reach weapon per 2 targets, but must be adjacent to at least one of the targets to do so.

Roper Adept

Starting at 11th level, you have become an expert at wielding your Roped Weapon. Now, the range for your Roped Weapon and Roped Techniques are 20ft instead of 10ft. Your Multi-Target Technique is now increased to up to 4 targets with one Roped Weapon within 10ft of you, or 10ft of each other.

Opportunist

At 17th level, you can exploit a creature's momentary distraction when it is hit by an attack. Whenever a creature within 20 feet of you is hit by an attack made by a creature other than you, you can use your reaction to make a Far Reach Weapon attack against that creature.
