Base Class: Druid
The Circle of the Dragon is for those who wish harness the power of the dragons, or for those fascinated by the history of dragons. They study the impact of these magical creatures on the natural world to gain a better understanding of the proud race.
These druids often serve a dragon, and in exchange are trained in the use of their ancient power and how to control their newfound draconic forms. These druids will defend the dragons they serve with their lives, and have been documented fighting alongside the dragons during conflicts such as the Thousand Year War.
Early in the history of this circle, these druids fought over which dragon god to follow, and whether to serve the chromatic dragons or the metallic dragons. This caused the circle to split in half, one side servants of the Chromatic Dragons and followers of Tiamat, and the other side servants of the Metallic Dragons and followers of Bahamut. While druids of either circle rarely meet each other, they have been known to fight eachother during certain conflicts.
Dragon Form
At level 2, when you select this circle, you choose a type of dragon wyrmling to transform into. If you are a dragonborn or a half dragon, you choose the dragon corresponding to your dragon ancestry instead. The same rules listed in the wild shape feature apply as usual, except for the following:
- Your hp is your hp is 8 + your dragon's con modifier at level 1, and an additional 4 + con modifier per additional druid level (or 1d8 + con mod).
- You gain your dragon's damage immunity as a damage resistance.
- Your dragon breath requires a long or short rest to recharge.
- At level 8, you gain half of your dragon's flying speed.
Draconic
You know Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.
Young Dragon Form
Upon reaching level 6, you gain the ability to transform into the young version of your chosen dragon. Your hp in dragon form is now 10 + your dragon's con modifier at level 1, with an additional 5 + your dragon's con modifier for every additional level (or d10 + con mod). However, you may not switch your dragon type.
Scale Stalker
Beginning at 6th level, from your time spent in the shape of dragons, you have significant experience studying, tracking, hunting, and even talking to them. You have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track dragons, as well as on Intelligence checks to recall information about them.
Favored Form
Starting at 6th level, while in dragon form, you are immune to any outside spell or effect that would alter your form.
Ways of the Wyrm
Beginning at 10th level, having acclimated yourself to the ways of the dragons, you add double your proficiency bonus to ability checks made to identify dragons, recall draconic history, or converse with dragons, instead of whatever bonus you would normally add to the ability check.
Legendary Wings
Starting at 10th level, your flying speed is no longer halved while in dragon form.
Adult Dragon Form
At 14th level, you gain the ability to transform into your chosen dragon's adult form. Your hp is 12 + your dragon's con modifier at level 1, and an additional d12 + your dragon's con modifier for every additional level. Additionally, you can now use your dragon form's immunity as an actual immunity instead of a resistance. You cannot use legendary resistance in dragon form or change your dragon type however.
Legendary Breath
At level 14, your breath weapon can be recharged by rolling a d6 at the beginning of each turn. Your breath weapon recharges on a 5 or 6.

Posted Mar 27, 2020Shoutout to reddit user u/gaylordqueen69, as I based this off of his Circle of the Scale. Link is here if you wish to view it. Additionally, I encourage you to give me suggestions on how to improve this because this is my first subclass here. As a result, the balancing might be a little... off.
