Base Class: Rogue
Lightning Thieves, commonly called "blitzers," pray to storm gods to grant them the speed of lightning.
Child of the Storm
When you reach 3rd level, your god grants you the power to cast the cantrips Lightning Lure and Lightning Storm Blade. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
When you use your action to cast them, you can use your bonus action to make a melee weapon attack with a light weapon as if you are engaging in two-weapon fighting.
Shocking Critical
Starting at 3rd level, when you score a critical hit, lightning arcs from you to the target. It can't use its reaction until the beginning of its next turn. Creatures immune to lightning damage are unaffected by this feature.
Lightning Blessing
At 9th level, you undergo a ritual where your god permanently infuses you with divine lightning. You become exceptionally quick. Your Cunning Action feature no longer takes a bonus action to use. It can be used once on your turns. For example, you can use your action to make an attack, use your bonus action to make an offhand attack, disengage using Cunning Action, and then use your movement.
In addition, you gain resistance to lightning damage.
Bolt Leap
At 13th level, your god teaches you how to perform a sacred attack. As an action, you can turn into a lightning bolt and move up to 100 feet in a straight line. This movement ignores difficult terrain and does not provoke opportunity attacks, and you can move through creatures. If you are grappled or restrained, that condition ends. Any creatures you move through must make a Dexterity saving throw against a DC of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier. A creature takes 8d6 + your rogue level lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. You ignite flammable objects in the area that aren’t being worn or carried.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
The Rain Transformed
At 17th level, you become one of your deity's greatest champions. You gain the following benefits.
- You become immune to lightning damage.
- Lightning damage you deal ignores resistance and treats creature immune to lightning as if they instead had resistance. Your Shocking Critical feature affects creatures normally immune to lightning.
- You can use your Bolt Leap feature as a reaction when you are attacked or forced to make a saving throw. If a creature makes an attack against you, it automatically misses. If you are forced to make a saving throw and your movement takes you outside the range of the spell or ability, it has no effect whatsoever on you. Even if you are still within range, ray spells and effects such as Disintegrate similarly miss you.
