Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

This spellcaster can use up an action to increase the strength of the spell they cast, the process of which is known as "Compounding."  They retain the ability to move on their turn, but can not make an action or reaction if they decide to Compound.

Compounder Savant

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, the gold and time you must spend to copy an evocation spell into your spellbook is halved.

Compound Magic

You can use your action in combat to improve the strength of a spell.  The die you use for this feature is called your Compound Magic die.  If the spell does damage or healing, it is increased by 1d4. The spell does 1d4 decreased damage or healing before the first use of Compound Magic.  This feature requires concentration. If you lose concentration, you are allowed to cast the spell as normal, without modified damage, healing, or range.  The die used for decreased damage or healing does not scale with levels.  If the spell does not do damage or healing, the range of that spell is increased by 10 ft. Extended range does not scale with levels.  Outside of combat, you cast the spell as normal.  This feature will become stronger at levels 6, 10, and 14.

Cursory Compounding

Starting at 6th level, you can add 3d4 damage to a spell you cast, however you must roll the attack with disadvantage.  You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your INT modifier. You regain the expended uses of this feature after a long rest.

Empowered Allies

Beginning at 10th level, up to 4 willing creatures within 30 ft. of you can add 1 of your Compound Magic dies to any damage rolls they make.  You use this feature as a bonus action.  This feature lasts until the end of your next turn.  You can use this feature once per short rest.

Remote Magic Circles

Starting at 14th level, you can place magic circles in a 30 ft. radius around you as a bonus action.  These circles can be charged with spells that activate when a creature walks over that space.  You can use this feature a number of times equal to half your wizard level each long rest.
